Description
In 1995, David Bowie embarked on a coupling tour with NINE INCH NAILS (hereinafter referred to as NIN), who had emerged as the standard bearers of industrial rock. Introducing a big 4-disc set where you can enjoy two precious shows where charismatic artists from old and new perform. There are two performances included in this work. This is a masterpiece audience recording set of “October 28 + 29, 1995 Inglewood Performance”. The “Great Western Forum” is the same venue where “L.A. FORUM 1983 1ST NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD FIRST GENERATION CASSETTES” which will be released at the same time this week and the blockbuster masterpiece “L.A. FORUM 1978: MIKE MILLARD 1ST GEN” will be held. Yes, this work is a 4-disc set that is the 1995 version of such masterpieces. Also, the point of this work is the coupling of the century with NIN. This was not just a joint tour, it was also very complex in structure. First, let’s take a look at the dates one by one. 1995《“OUTSIDE” released on September 25th》・September 14th – October 31st: North America (27 performances)←★Here★・November 14th – December 13th: UK (16 performances) 1996・January 17th – February 20th: Europe #1 (23 performances) ・June 4th – 13th: Japan (7 performances) ・June 18th – July 21st: Europe #2/Israel (20 Performance) This is the whole picture of “OUTSIDE TOUR”. Among these, only the “North American” leg was a coupling, and it was a total of 26 performances other than the last day. The two Inglewood performances of this work are the 25th and 26th performances of the final edition. Even though it says “2 groups x 2 performances, 4 CDs”, it is not 1 band per band. This is also the point, it is a very complicated show. Next, let’s organize the structure of this work. First day (October 28th) – DISC 1 1-11: NINE INCH NAILS – DISC 1 12-16: NIN & Bowie – All of DISC 2: Bowie’s solo Day 2 (October 28) – DISC 3 1-5: NIN & Bowie – All of DISC 4: Bowie’s solo… and it looks like this. On the first day (DISC 1-2), both NIN and Bowie’s stages are completely recorded, but on the second day (DISC 3-4), the Bowie version is completely recorded, but the NIN solo stage is omitted due to recording omissions. It has been. So, I thought there would be no NIN on the second day…but that wasn’t the case. In fact, this is a special part of this tour, where a co-starring corner is set up when NIN → Bowie is replaced, and the two shows are seamlessly connected (this is the “NIN & Bowie” part above). Moreover, it is not just a collaboration. First, Bowie appeared as a guest at the end of the NIN stage. As they performed each other’s songs, Bowie’s backing band appeared, and the NIN members left to take their place. And, at the end, Trent Reznor gets off the stage and changes to Bowie’s solo stage. Let’s take a closer look at this “NIN & Bowie” part one by one.・1st song: Bowie & NIN “Subterraneans (Bowie song)” ・2nd song: Bowie & NIN “Scary Monsters (Bowie song)” ・3rd song: Bowie & NIN “Reptile (NIN song)” ・4th song: Bowie Band & NIN “Hallo” Spaceboy (Bowie song)” / 5th song: Bowie Band & Reznor “Hurt (NIN song)” In this way, the two songs will be completely replaced with the big collaboration “Hallo Spaceboy” in between. There are a number of luxurious coupling tours in the rock world, but it was an elaborate structure like no other. And the sound of this work that conveys such a special tour site is also special. First of all, the shocking thing is the first day (October 28th). It is a show that was not known for recording until now, but it was discovered at once, including the NIN minutes. Moreover, it is clear and has a lot of direct feeling. Although it is undeniable that the treble sounds a little fuzzy, the core that reaches straight is strong and the details are detailed. Although it is not mistaken for a sound board due to the tone and the real enthusiasm of the surroundings, it is wonderful because the audience-likeness is not muddy or distant. It is a wonderful recording that has not been known for 25 years. And the second day (October 29th) is even more so. The existence of this recording was known, and since there is no NIN edition, it is shocking, but the quality is far superior! Anyway, it’s super clear and has a lot of direct feeling. The treble shines with a glossy luster, and the midrange has a heavy density and response. Even though the deep bass is so powerful that it kicks up your five organs and shakes your six senses, it has a great sense of stability that never scares you. On the first day, I felt like an audience (slightly), but this time I went “like a soundboard” on the ground. In this work, the first day (October 28th) is chronologically listed as DISC 1-2, but if you get this work, I would like you to listen to the second day (October 29th) first. It is such a beautiful recording. The first day of the new excavation (October 28th), where you can listen to the solo stage of NIN, who has risen to become the darling of the era, and the second day (October 29th), which will overwhelm you with amazing and superb sound. And, because it is the coupling tour of the century, the performance stage changes with gradation… Although the individuality is different, it is a big 4-disc set where you can fully enjoy the two performances of the tour of the century.
