The “November 8-11, 1995” when this work was recorded was a rehearsal in preparation for the upcoming “UK leg” after the tour had already started and they had made plenty of tours of the “North American leg”. In particular, on the first day of rehearsal, “November 8”, they had also appeared on “TOP OF THE POPS” and were almost fully prepared. It was a thorough rehearsal of a band that was already well-seasoned. Therefore, the performance was perfect. Although it is a little different from the excitement in front of an audience, the ironclad ensemble boasts a perfection that does not leak water. You can immerse yourself in the ironclad performance “only”. What is performed with that performance ability can be called “the live version of 1.OUTSIDE”. In fact, of the 17 songs (18 takes) performed in this work, about half are “1.OUTSIDE”, and four songs from the “Berlin Trilogy” are also performed. You can fully enjoy that unique world of bizarreness. It is a live performance album that is not at all like a rehearsal, but on the contrary, it is Bowie’s words that make it seem like a rehearsal. He gives instructions to the band between songs (and sometimes even during songs) and takes charge of the on-site direction. It is a super-excellent album where you can not only play and sing, but also encounter “Bowie behind the scenes”. Although it is such an exquisite rehearsal, it is a little shorter than a normal live performance, about 101 minutes.
