Description
A superb rehearsal album is now available. This work is engraved with the “1.OUTSIDE” era created with his ally Brian Eno. This is a 2-disc set that focuses on the stereo soundboard recording of the tour rehearsal, and includes the best live recording as a bonus track. First of all, I must introduce the shocking rehearsal sound source. This recording recently appeared in the world as the analog version “SLINKY SECRETS” and caused an uproar among enthusiasts. Although it shook collectors with its extremely high quality sound, this work is not an analogue version of that. At our store, we have been introducing Bowie’s soundboard albums in top quality editions. We have been supervised by a world-renowned authority on Bowie research, and using top masters backed by a solid eye for selection and vast knowledge, we have delivered quality that surpasses previous releases. This work is the latest installment of that series. Surprisingly, they provided us with the master that became the basis for the analog discs that surprised enthusiasts around the world. Therefore, its quality is top notch. It’s not the pinnacle of this sound source. It is the pinnacle of all the countless soundboard sound sources that exist officially/unofficially. Nowadays, people are afraid to casually declare things like “official grade.” Rather, it is of tremendous quality that should be compared to official studio works. The music depicted with that quality is also not free. When it comes to rehearsal albums, no matter how good the sound is, the performance itself is often poor, and it’s not unusual for the songs to be memorized, especially during tour rehearsals. Of course, it’s not in front of an audience, and it’s not for anyone to listen to. However, this work is a little different. It is also related to the time when this work was recorded. Let’s start with an overview of “OUTSIDE TOUR 1995”.・September-October 1995: North America (27 performances) 《November 8-11, 1995: Rehearsal》 ←★Here★ ・November-December 1995: UK (16 performances) ・January 1996 -February: Europe #1 (23 performances) ・June 1996: Japan (7 performances) ・June-July 1996: Europe #2 (20 performances) This is the whole world tour. This work was recorded “November 8th-11th, 1995”, after the tour had already started and the band had toured the “North American leg” a lot, and then rehearsed in preparation for the coming “UK leg”. In particular, on November 8th, the first day of rehearsal, he appeared on “TOP OF THE POPS” and was almost ready. It was a rehearsal for a band that was already well-versed. Therefore, your performance is perfect. It’s a little different from the excitement of performing in front of an audience, but the impregnable ensemble boasts impeccable perfection. You can fully immerse yourself in that iron-clad performance. What can be called the “live performance version of 1.OUTSIDE” is showcased with its performance ability. In fact, of the 17 songs (18 takes) played in this work, about half are “1.OUTSIDE”, and four songs from the “Berlin Trilogy” will also be performed. You can fully enjoy that bizarre and unique world. It’s a live performance album that doesn’t look like a rehearsal at all, but Bowie’s words make it feel like a rehearsal. He gives instructions to the band between songs (and sometimes even during songs) and is in charge of conducting the scene. The voice is also poured directly into the brain through a sound board connected directly to the desk. It is a super-excellent album where you can meet not only the performance and singing voice, but also “Bowie behind the scenes”. Although it is such a superb rehearsal, it is slightly shorter than a normal live performance, about 101 minutes. That’s not bad enough, but for our customers, Authority has also provided an excellent bonus track. There are 8 super-super audience recordings from the first day of the North American tour prior to rehearsal, “September 12, 1995, Hartford Performance”, and one soundboard song, “My Death”, from “September 18, 1995, New York Performance”. The point of the former is NINE INCH NAILS. “OUTSIDE TOUR 1995” became a hot topic because NINE INCH NAILS was appointed as the undercard, and the first five songs of Bowie’s stage were performed with NINE INCH NAILS. It was a structure that just fell into Bowie’s main story. The Hartford performance of this work includes the first co-starring part. Of course, not only is it valuable, but its quality is also top-notch. It is a tremendous recording that does not feel out of place even after the best stereo sound board. And, the final performance in New York was “My Death” played by just the two of them with pianist Mike Garson. This is a genuine official-grade superb stereo sound board that was also published on the official website. At the rehearsal, there was a band performance, but here Bowie sings earnestly over a dignified piano tune. In this way, if you only have a useless sentence, you may think, “It’s a strange mix of audience, sound board, etc.” But you’ll understand how great this bonus is when you hear it. It creates such a moving finale. A rehearsal where you can meet Bowie, who is also a valuable and on-site director. In addition to the main sound source drawn on a super high-quality stereo sound board, this is a top-notch version that includes bonus early highlights from “OUTSIDE TOUR 1995.” This is a masterpiece that condenses the delicious parts of “OUTSIDE TOUR 1995” into one piece. One of the rare quality of Bowie in the 90’s.
