Description

“SOUND+VISION TOUR 1990” is a collection of the most gorgeous greatest hits in Bowie history. Introducing a gorgeous 6-disc set that completely covers that Live in Japan. With the formation of TIN MACHINE, this tour was held to seal the release of their hit songs, but their only two performances in Japan were at Tokyo Dome on May 15th and 16th, 1990. This work is the pinnacle live set of “Japan 1990” that depicts the two days at Tokyo Dome with the world’s first superb audience recording and stereo sound board recording. Now, let’s start introducing each disc. [Discs 1 & 2: May 15th full AUD] First of all, the first appearance recording that includes the first day of Tokyo Dome. On this day, there is also “FIRST NIGHT AT DOME (Uxbridge 092)” which became a hot topic for its high sound quality, but this work is a completely different recording. This is a world-first live album using the original master provided by the recording artist himself. Moreover, the recording artist was a master taper who was touted as the best in Japan at the time. , from the late 70’s to the 80’s, who recorded countless famous recordings by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, etc. Bowie’s “BUDOKAN 1978″, which was released the other day, is a taper that showed off its tremendous recording technology. Moreover, this recording artist is also strong at Tokyo Dome. Speaking of domes at that time, it was common for them to have terrible sounds, and most of them were just “just worth listening to”. Under such circumstances, he is a master among masters who has achieved ultra-high sound quality that is hard to believe from Tokyo Dome, such as THE ROLLING STONES’ “DOME ON WHEELS” and Mick Jagger’s “2 NIGHTS IN DOME”. . In fact, this work also has a frighteningly clear and direct musical tone. No, even in modern times, where the times have advanced, there are not many sounds like this. When you think of Tokyo Dome, you get the impression that it has extremely poor acoustics, but other than the realistic clapping and the vast cheering that spread out in the background, there was nothing typical of Tokyo Dome. I think it was probably recorded close to the PA, but the clear direct feeling with zero reverberation is almost a soundboard. Although there is some slight deterioration at the beginning of disc 2 due to the state of storage of the tape, it is out of the question to have “FIRST NIGHT AT DOME”, which has been praised as a “great masterpiece” and “a classic”. , a super sound that stands on a level that is far impossible to reach. There was a gap of about 32 seconds due to a tape change in “Stay”, but that was compensated for from the previous release. We have created a seamless experience for you to enjoy. [Discs 3 & 4: May 16th full AUD] The following discs 3 and 4 are full recordings from the second day by the same recording artist. This is also the best audience sound. If you listen to the shimmering discs 1 and 2 continuously, you will feel that it is an audience recording, but this is probably because the musical tones are recorded thickly rather than because the clarity deteriorates. As usual, a wonderful sound that jumps straight into the air without being interrupted by the loud cheers. It’s not “super high sound quality for Tokyo Dome”. Even if you ignore what kind of venue it is, the level is outrageous. On this day, the professional shot video by a certain public broadcasting station is famous, but the tape change part (14 seconds) from the end of “Life On Mars?” to “Blue Jean” was supplemented with the soundboard audio. Since there is only the MC part, you can understand the difference between the real cheering audience and the sound board, but there is no discomfort in the thick musical tone. It becomes clear how excellent the recording of this work is. Moreover, I am glad that it is a full concert different from the first day. In fact, Bowie was not feeling well on the first day, and the concert ended without an encore. On Discs 1 and 2, there is tremendous high sound quality and even Bowie’s poor condition is highlighted, but this is a passionate performance that will return the stigma. Perhaps the cut-off from the previous day was to ensure everything was in order on this day, and there was also a broadcast, so it was a live show with a tremendous spirit of “I’ll do it no matter what!”. [Discs 5 & 6: May 16th Full SBD] The last discs 5 and 6 are the full soundboard albums from the second day. As I wrote earlier, this live show was also broadcast on TV, but it was a shortened version edited to about 90 minutes. Unlike that, discs 5 and 6 were created from the original master before broadcast editing. In other words, it was recorded in real time during the live performance. Since it is a real-time recording, it naturally includes the full MC between songs and “Fashion, Stay,” “Station To Station,” “Panic In Detroit,” and “Pretty Pink Rose” that were cut from the broadcast. It is the perfect live album of the day. The master has been loved as the video title “COMPLETE VISION IN DOME”, but this time only the audio was extracted from the original master and carefully mastered. The bass, which was too emphasized due to real-time recording, has been sorted out and optimized for modern audio. We created a balance that allows you to fully enjoy the deliciousness of a super beautiful line recording whether you use headphones or speakers. In fact, this live album feels like an official album. It is a two-disc set that is truly “THE BEST LIVE OF BOWIE” with a gorgeous set list and gorgeous sounds. The most luxurious show in the history of Bowie’s performance in Japan is only twice. This is a live set that depicts the whole picture with the finest audience and stereo sound board. There can’t be a more luxurious Live in Japan, both in terms of quality and music. This 6-disc set is faithful to the fundamentals of music, “listening to great songs with great sound,” and has been compiled with thorough attention to detail. A shining jewel box of music that Bowie left behind in Japan. Please enjoy this big piece of treasure that has been polished to its limits.
