Description

The “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” shines in rock history. Another superb treasure that conveys the truth from the tour where the legendary charisma swept the world is born. This work contains the “Detroit performance on March 1, 1973”. First, let’s imagine the position from the whole world tour. ・January-September 1972: UK # 1 (56 performances) ・September-December 1972: North America # 1 (26 performances) ・December 1972-January 1973: UK # 2 (8 performances) ・February-March 1973: North America # 2 (16 performances) ← ★ Here ★ ・April 1973: Japan (9 performances) ・May-July 1973: UK # 3 (59 performances) 182 performances in total. The Detroit performance in this work was the 13th performance of “North America # 2”, which had 16 performances, and was a concert just before (4 times before) the legendary performance in Japan. This work, which contains such a show, is a truly wonderful audience recording. Its greatest appeal is the on musical tone. It certainly inhales the air of the enthusiastic swirling venue, but the performance and singing voice that are close at hand are simply powerful. Especially wonderful is Bowie’s … no, Ziggy’s singing voice. The voice that jumps straight in has almost no venue sound, and is as sharp as a laser beam. Overall, it is definitely a “vintage audience recording”, but the vocals are detailed, robust, and beautiful enough to kick out the line recordings around there. In addition, Mick Ronson’s chorus, which is just as clear, is involved there. There are many famous recordings that convey the reality of THE SPIDERS FROM MARS, but I can’t think of a beautiful recording of the singing voice so far. Of course, even if the vocals are dazzling, the band performance is not dirty. This is also fresh and not an ordinary audience sound. I mentioned earlier that it has a “vintage feel,” but the only thing that makes it feel that way is the master deterioration at the beginning. To be honest, when you start playing it, you can see that it is a thick and clear sound, but it is slightly distorted. However, that is only the beginning. It begins to stabilize before the start of “Hang On To Yourself,” and by the time it is reflected in “Ziggy Stardust,” the beautiful and lustrous original sound spreads all at once. Although 40 years have been engraved in the beginning, there is still plenty of freshness left after that, which makes you think, “Maybe it has never been played before?” There is no way that such a famous recording would not have been known until now. In fact, it is an 8-track recording that has been known only to those in the know, and has produced several existing works. However, this work is not a copy of those, but a master that a world authority in Bowie research carefully selected and stamped “this is the best.” It was remastered under the supervision of a researcher. Of course, we never do anything to taint the beautiful “sound” of the original sound. We carefully removed the remaining petit noise, and corrected “Suffragette City”, which had been filled in by a separate recording, so that it flows seamlessly. We valued the master sound to the last, and finished it to the highest peak in existence. The brilliance of “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” revived by that sound… In general, it is the same as the performance in Japan immediately after, but just being close to that legend makes it amazing. This tour is always based on the official masterpiece “LIVE SANTA MONICA ’72” (and its upgraded version “UK ADVANCE/PROMOTIONAL CD”), but while that is “North America #1”, this work is “North America #2”. At this point, “ALADDIN SANE” has not yet been released, but it is already completed, and this work also features masterpieces such as “Panic In Detroit”, “Watch That Man”, “Aladdin Sane” and “Time” that cannot be heard in “LIVE SANTA MONICA ’72”. On top of that, this work also has an overflowing “sense of reality”. The atmosphere of THE SPIDERS FROM MARS, the magic of 70’s rock, and the rare charisma “Ziggy” is fully absorbed. It creates a different kind of enthusiasm than in Japan, and an overwhelming impact that silences even the noisy Americans. The feeling that “Ziggy is here” is a bliss that cannot be compared to “LIVE SANTA MONICA ’72”. “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” has been reported in many famous recordings, including “UK ADVANCE/PROMOTIONAL CD” and Japan performances. Another superb live album that can be lined up in that row has been born. The best Detroit performance ever. Live at Masonic Temple, Detroit, MI. USA 1st March 1973 (69:42) 1. Ode To Joy 2. Hang On To Yourself 3. Ziggy Stardust 4. Changes 5. Moonage Daydream 6. Panic In Detroit 7. Five Years 8. Watch That Man 9. Aladdin Sane 10. The Width Of A Circle 11. Space Oddity 12. Time 13. Suffragette City 14. Jean Genie incl. Love Me Do 15. Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide
