Description
There were four warm-up gigs for the “EARTHLING TOUR”. Among them, the Hanover Grand in London, their hometown, was held for two consecutive days. This work is the audience album for the second day, “June 3, 1997”. It is a clear recording that fills the small club with heat. It was made into a CD directly from the original DAT master. However, even at the beginning of “I’m Deranged”, the peak of the sound was slightly cracked. Of course, it is never a loud sound, but it is a moment of fear at the waveform peak. Normally, it is a level that is not a problem at all. The real coexistence of this work is even hotter than the expectations and enthusiasm of the enthusiasts who gathered from all over Europe, and the happiness of being there is a catharsis that is not often experienced. What is different more than such a sound is actually the show itself. Of course, since it is a warm-up for the same tour, the basic concept is the same, but on the second day, I realized that the concept also included “change”. What I mean is that the two-part “Set 1” and “Set 2” have been completely switched. It has become “Drum and Bass Set → Regular Set”. This difference is enormous. The audience is suddenly confronted with a new Bowie sound, and while they are confused, they are drawn in… To be honest, it creates a very challenging mood. Of course, for Bowie, who has continued to adventure throughout his career, he was aware of such an atmosphere. To follow that, the songs themselves have been changed. There are actually six songs in total. Some of them are recent songs such as “The Motel” and “Telling Lies”, but it is the classics that heat up the audience. Plenty of delicious songs such as “The Man Who Sold The World”, “White Light / White Heat”, “Under Pressure”, and “All The Young Dudes” have been added. Although each one has a new arrangement, the audience enjoys and sings a lot. The first day’s 2CDs gradually permeate the whole body with a new sound world. And this work on the second day will hit you with a strong preemptive punch. This is a luxurious set that captures the two days of vivid contrasts with real sound, even though they are warm gigs in the same hometown. There were two superb club gigs that should never be two. These two bring out the highest quality from the original DAT sound. Please enjoy “Bowie in 1997” to the fullest.
