Description

The complete master of the legendary stereo soundboard, which was also made official in “BOWIE AT THE BEEB”, has been discovered. It is now available on 2CD. The legendary sound board was recorded on “June 27, 2000 London”. This is a special performance recorded for a program on BBC Radio Theatre. This show is also known as an act of “MINI TOUR”. As the name suggests, it is a special period that is different from regular concert tours, and we have introduced records of it at our store. First, let’s imagine the show position from the overview of “MINI TOUR”. ・June 16th “ROSELAND BALLROOM 2000 1ST NIGHT”《June 17th: New York performance (cancelled)》 ・June 19th: New York performance (transferred) ・June 25th “GLASTONSTONBURY FESTIVAL 2000″ ・June 27th :BBC RADIO THEATER ←★This work★ [Complete master of the classic soundboard] Above, all 4 performances. The main event was the Glastonbury Festival, which was our first appearance in 30 years, and not only was our “GLASTONSTONBURY FESTIVAL 2000 (Wardour-184)” very popular, but the official edition “GLASTONBURY 2000” was also released afterwards. . Three limited shows were held before and after that, and this work was the last concert. This show is premised on broadcasting, and is also familiar as the approximately 1-hour TV broadcast pro shot and the official compilation “BOWIE AT THE BEEB”. However, all of them are incomplete versions, and for a long time we have had to rely on audience recordings to get the full view of the day. However, in recent years, a complete stereo sound board sound source has been discovered. This work is the ultimate edition provided by a researcher who independently obtained the master, which is the highest peak. The sound is truly ironclad. After all, it was recorded by the prestigious BBC, and it was actually recorded on the official edition, so the recording is completely official. Some core collectors are also selling versions with shifted pitches, but this work has been digitized from the actual master auctioned, and if the pitch is perfect, the sound will be glossy. There are many of the best soundboards that we introduce that have not lost even when they were later made official, and this work is one of them. That is the quality that would not be strange even if it was made official as it is. [A show where both the set and the performance are too special] What is portrayed with that quality is a show that is precious and too special. In the first place, “MINI TOUR” itself only had 4 performances, but this work is exceptional among them. First of all, tons of rare songs. “Starman,” “Wild Is The Wind,” and “Absolute Beginners,” which were revived after more than 10 years, were also played at Glastonbury, but there are plenty of other famous songs that can’t be heard at that show. They performed classics such as “Seven”, “Survive”, “Always Crashing In The Same Car”, “Cracked Actor” and “The Jean Genie”, which were unique to that time. Even more extreme are the 60’s singles “The London Boys” and “I Dig Everything” and “This Is Not America”, which was provided for the movie “Code Name is Falcon”. All of them are extremely rare songs that were only played several times on “MINI TOUR”. “This Is Not America” could be heard on TV broadcasts and “BOWIE AT THE BEEB,” but “The London Boys” and “I Dig Everything” were not included. You can enjoy such extremely rare songs on the official sound board. The second is the special mood of the show. In fact, this show is also known as the worst condition in Bowie history. You can tell from the beginning that things aren’t going well, but it gets worse in the second half. They had to restart “Ziggy Stardust” because they couldn’t hear it, but they still managed to sing it, but the following “All The Young Dudes” was also interrupted. While Bowie takes a break, the band plays “The Jean Genie” as an instrumental. After that, Bowie returns to the stage and redoes “All The Young Dudes”, completing the show with full body injuries. Perhaps these songs were too strict, and they were cut from both TV broadcasts and “BOWIE AT THE BEEB.” The third one is also related to this, but you can also listen to plenty of MC between songs. “BOWIE AT THE BEEB” not only has fewer songs, but the conversation between songs was also significantly cut, but there is Bowie who tells the story of each song with plenty of humor and makes excuses for his poor condition. Although this scene has been confirmed in audience recordings so far, in this work you can experience Bowie’s words and singing voice that is like a desperate effort on a sound board that is direct to your ears. I wrote earlier that it wouldn’t be strange if it were made official as it is, but it would still be difficult. It is difficult to imagine that the complete version of the redo show, which was rumored at the time to have “broken down in tears after the live performance,” will be made into an official work. However, this slump is also a page in Bowie’s history. Although he may not be an excellent musical masterpiece, his human touch is irresistible to enthusiasts who know all about his charm. A complete version where you can enjoy the special show of such a special time with a close-up stereo sound board.
