Description
This work was recorded at “May 14, 2004 London Performance”. Even though it’s called London, it’s actually London in Ontario, Canada, not England. This is a master that uses the BBC broadcast sound source and was normally released as “NEW KILLER STAR” from the TRIAL label. Although it was recorded as a digest of about 1 hour rather than the entire concert due to the program schedule, the reason why it was still normally released was simply because of the quality. It’s truly a perfect soundboard, and there’s no need to line up the soundboard, it’s so perfect that it can be described as “official quality sound”. The direct feeling as if all the instruments are playing in your ears, and the perfectly mixed balance are only possible with line recording. Although it is “official grade”, this tour is really official and “A REALITY TOUR” has been released. It seems that there is no place for a single digest live album, but of course that is not the case. The key point here is the timing. Before explaining that, let’s briefly look back at the overview of “A REALITY TOUR 2003-2004”. ・October-November 2003: Europe #1 Tour (31 performances) ・December 2003-February 2004: North America #1/Central America Tour (22 performances) ・February 2004-March 2004: Oceania/Asia Tour (13 performances) March 2004-June 2004: North America #2 Tour (39 performances) June 2004: Europe #2 Tour (7 performances) In this way, “A REALITY TOUR 2003 -2004” was a full-fledged tour around the world with 112 performances over about 9 months. Among them, the official version “A REALITY TOUR” was left behind from the “Europe #1 Tour” at the beginning. This work, on the other hand, takes place in the latter half of the “North American #2 Tour”, when the tour is nearing its end. This work is one that represents the final stage of the world tour as well as the United States. The official album “A REALITY TOUR” was about the band’s communication finally functioning in earnest, and they were full of ambition to go around the world, but this work has already traveled the world, and the band’s ensemble has reached its full potential. A yokozuna sumo match that looks like it was brought out in the original. The set list has also changed, and “Station to Station”, “Quicksand” and “Modern Love”, which cannot be heard on “A REALITY TOUR”, are also featured. In the explanation of the main press 4CD, I wrote that “you can listen to it as a 100% version of the official live album,” but this is also a piece that functions as a “complement to the official version.” Audience and soundboard, UK and US, beginning and end of the tour. Although they are contrasting in every sense, this work and the other 4 CDs have one thing in common: “quality that represents the tour.” Please enjoy this superb set of both extremes that will make you feel the various charms of “A REALITY TOUR 2003-2004”.
