Description

We present to you the recently released video work “STATION TO STATION: MONTREAL 1976” produced by Core Mania. This video is truly a “work of art”. In summary, it is a video of the “February 25, 1976 Montreal performance” covered with the official soundboard of the “March 23, 1976 Uniondale performance”. It is a 15-minute video of only one song, “Station To Station”. However, the finish is extraordinary. First, the most important video. This is an 8mm film taken at the Montreal performance, and was released as a memorial after Bowie’s death. The first one released was a silent video of about one minute, but the beauty of the video was so amazing that it shocked maniacs all over the world. One of the maniacs who was so moved contacted the owner of the film and obtained all the footage other than the one minute released. It seems that the footage was only a few shredded silent footage of less than 10 seconds, but it was taken at various places in the venue during the show, and there were a total of 50 cuts. Not only the right and left sides of the stage, but the entire stage, the band shots, the second floor seats, and even before the show started, which gradually filled up… I don’t know if he really filmed it by himself, but he was watching Bowie from every viewpoint of the venue, even though it was cut into pieces. The maniacs who got the film were astonished not only by the beauty of each cut, but also by the huge number of angles. However, no matter how precious and wonderful it is, it is a silent film of a few seconds each. So he came up with the idea of remaking it into a video clip specification with music. For the sound, he used “Station To Station” from the Nassau Coliseum, which was included in the deluxe edition of the official “STATION TO STATION”, and constructed it using various cuts. Sometimes crossfading, sometimes superimposing, and adding effect processing to complete one clip… that is this work. Its level of completion can only be called a “work of art”. Since it is a video cut from the entire show, it contains many scenes that are not actually “Station To Station”, but the editing to match the beat and tune does not even notice it. Bowie’s facial expression appears during the performance, the audience is reflected, and “Station To Station” is drawn in sync with the finest official sound board. The pre-show scenes and cheers not included in the official version also use “Un Chien Andalou” from the Cleveland performance, which is the same as the 2CD, and it is a work of art created by using every possible means. An extremely valuable 8mm film that no one knew existed. A core maniac who accurately understood its value and poured endless passion into it. It is a work of art born from the meeting of two people who were in love with Bowie. Live at Montreal Forum, Montreal, QC. Canada 25th February 1976 1. Pre-Show 2. Station To Station * Live audio recording from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, NY. USA 23rd March 1976 COLOUR NTSC Approx.15min.
