Description

Cyndi Lauper returned to Japan for the first time in four years for her 35th anniversary tour. The original recording that will be the first report of the latest Japan tour will be released at the earliest. This work includes “October 11, 2019 Orchard Hall Performance”. The masterpiece audience recording is now available. After all, the latest tour is currently underway. In particular, there will be 3 performances at Orchard Hall, so first check the show position on the tour schedule.・October 8: Sendai Sunplaza Hall ・October 10: Orchard Hall ・October 11: Orchard Hall ←★This work★ ・October 15: Nagoya City Public Hall ・October 18: Honda Forest Halls ・October 21st: Hiroshima Ueno Gakuen Hall ・October 23rd: Grand Cube Osaka ・October 25th: Orchard Hall (additional performances), total of 8 performances. By the time this update is done, the Nagoya performance is in the middle, but this work is one day before that. I hope you can understand how this work is the fastest release. This work, which records such a show, is a sparkling audience recording. Orchard hall tends to have a thick hall sound, but this work is a beautiful recording with a clear core that reaches straight. Although the sound tends to be a little high-pitched due to the sound output, each note has a vivid outline, and the beautiful melody and Cindy’s singing voice are as refreshing as a clear blue sky. Actually, I don’t really feel the deep bass component, but because of that, the bass has a more pronounced outline than the vibe, and the attack sound and line are brighter. Of course, the guitar of Kat Dyson, who was also enrolled in Prince’s NPG, is also captured beautifully. However, it is not a zero-distance recording that can be mistaken for a sound board. If you listen closely with headphones, you can get a sense of space, but for some reason the sound of the hall doesn’t become cloudy or muddy, giving the singing voice and synths an exquisite sense of immersion. What a wonderful thing to hear in “I’m Gonna Be Strong” with such a dramatic reverberating voice… Although it is not like a soundboard, it is a beautiful recording that is wonderfully clear and allows you to fully enjoy the beauty and intimacy of pop music. The show drawn with that sound is wonderful, with flashbacks to the shocking debut era, and various scenes from his long career. The contents are… ●SHE’S SO UNUSUAL (5 songs)・She Bop/All Through the Night/Money Changes Everything/Time After Time/Girls Just Want to Have Fun ●TRUE COLORS (2 songs)・Change of Heart/True Colors ●SHINE (2 songs)・Eventually/Shine ●Others (7 songs)・The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough “THE GOONIES” / I Drove All Night “A NIGHT TO REMEMBER” / I’m Gonna Be Strong “TWELVE DEADLY” CYNS…AND THEN SOME” / You Don’t Know “SISTERS OF AVALON” / Not My Father’s Son “KINKY BOOTS” / Hope / New Song from Working Girl… and so on. While focusing on about half of his debut work “SHE’S SO UNUSUAL,” he also includes “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough” from the movie “The Goonies,” “Not My Father’s Son” from the musical “Kinky Boots,” and his latest single “Hope.” ” and even new songs. In addition to such a set, the MC of this work is also worth listening to. Cindy herself speaks broken Japanese, saying, “Hello, how are you? Please wait a second,” but most of the time a female interpreter is present. This is quite interesting. After the opening song, “I Drove All Night,” the MC immediately said, “This hairstyle is the best…Isn’t it the hairstyle? The headdress is the best, isn’t it? Is there anyone over the age of 20? I don’t think so. But,” he laughs. Afterwards, he talks about the songs as if looking back on his long career. For example, before “Eventually,” he said, “I wrote the next song with ○ichi Sakamoto. Blues songs may be about sad things, but in the end they’re love songs. I’m also writing a love song for the earth, loving the earth.” I wrote it for the people who did it and the people who ruined it.” In the introduction of “You Don’t Know,” he says, “I wrote it in the 90s. It was around the time when I was wondering if things were going well,” and in “Shine,” he said, “I re-released it in Japan after the indie genre failed.” But it’s only in Japan that you can get this album, which gives you a vivid sense of its long history. Furthermore, before performing a new song whose title is unknown, she tells us in Japanese details that cannot be understood from the music alone, such as that it is a song from the musical “WORKING GIRL” that she is currently working on, and its story. It’s interesting just to be able to convey this kind of content vividly, but this female interpreter herself is also quite humorous. “Um, excuse me. (Cindy) just asked me how to say “Fuck it up” in Japanese…” “I didn’t really understand either, but it seemed like a weird joke. “Drinking jokes” and the not-too-serious exchanges got the audience excited. Even in “Not My Father’s Son,” when Cindy was asked for the Japanese name of the song, she said, “It’s not my father’s son… it’s a literal translation,” and the highlight song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” is called & Even in the response, the voice that translates to “sing with a voice that’s deafening” sounds really cool. Every time, the atmosphere at the venue is filled with warmth, and I can see the smiles spreading across the halls. The film concludes with the breath-taking thrill of “True Colors.” The light rhythm brings back memories from 35 years ago, and the beautiful melody brings back memories of the days we spent together with Cindy’s singing voice. And I couldn’t help but smile at Cindy’s MC and translator. This is a live album where you can fully experience the 35th anniversary show in Japan with wonderful clear sound. Cyndi Lauper was loved by Japan and loved Japan. This is a book that makes me happy to have lived in the same era as her.
