Description

CYBERNAUTS is a project band of the century called DEF LEPPARD + THE SPIDERS FROM MARS. A superb live album recording that precious performance in Japan is now available. This project is truly a dream come true. Joe Elliott and Phil Collen have never hidden their admiration for David Bowie and Mick Ronson, and now they have joined the rhythm section (Trevor Bolder & Woody Woodmansey) of the real THE SPIDERS FROM MARS. . The late Dick Decent, who was also a support keyboardist for DEF LEPPARD, also joined the group and carried out a tour in which they lovingly performed the repertoire of THE SPIDERS FROM MARS. The scene was left on the official edition “LIVE”, and even a performance in Japan was realized. This work is a superb audience recording of that night “January 12, 2001: Umeda HEAT BEAT” performance. In terms of records, let’s first check the show’s position from the schedule of coming to Japan. ・January 8: Yokohama Bay Hall ・January 9: SHIBUYA-AX ・January 11: Nagoya Club Quattro ・January 12: Umeda HEAT BEAT [This work] A total of 4 performances. This visit to Japan was also their first overseas performance, but the Osaka performance of this work was the last day. This work, which records such a show, is a truly superb sound. In any case, there is no sense of distance, and the very thick core of both the singing voice and the performance sound jumps into your ears. The rolling piano touch and guitar picking nuances are clear, and the vocals can be felt not just as a single word in the lyrics, but as the breathing of a single syllable. Moreover, the three-dimensional effect is exquisite. Each instrument is neatly separated, and the outline of each note is sharp, so the gaps are clear. The tapestry of sounds that intertwine and weave together is beautifully depicted. Such a recording was made possible by the close contact unique to Umeda HEAT BEAT and the amazing skill of the master. This work was recorded by a famous Osaka recording artist who was active from the late 90’s to the early 2000’s, and is well known for his many masterpieces at our store. BON JOVI’s masterpiece title “OSAKA 2003 1ST NIGHT”, Richie Sambora, IRON MAIDEN, RAINBOW, AC/DC, SYKES, Yngwie Malmsteen, THE BLACK CROWES, etc. I don’t have time to list them all, but if you’ve caught your eye on this work, you may have experienced DEF LEPPARD’s “OSAKA 1999.” Although it is the same recording artist who made that masterpiece, it is a super masterpiece that even has the feeling of a closed room in a club. What is depicted with such a sound is Live in Japan, which is similar to the official live version but different. Basically, it is similar to “LIVE”, but Mick Ronson’s solo songs that can be heard on the official edition are omitted, and instead, “ALADDIN SANE” numbers such as “Time”, “Lady Grinning Soul”, and “Panic In Detroit” are included. Comes in set. The entire album and songs are filled with THE SPIDERS FROM MARS repertoire from that time, including “Lady Grinning Soul” and “The Man Who Sold The World”, which were not played on the actual “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR 9172-1973″. . And the performance that plays such a set is wonderful. It’s the same five members as on “LIVE” (by the way, Mike Garson was also in Japan at the time. He was on tour with a Japanese guitarist with a name like the Seven Lucky Gods backing him), but the rawness is completely different. Only the five members’ performances are vivid, and there are no harmonica or other decorations. Joe and Phil put all their love into their performances, and it’s good that they don’t copy them completely. For example, in “Moonage Daydream”, the hot and passionate solo is in the style of Phil Collen, and Joe is not a Bowie imitation. The admiration they had at that time had already become their flesh and blood, and from there they continued to write masterpieces based on their individuality. The original rhythm section is also in great shape. It’s sharp and has a rich groove, and Trevor’s chorus work is also great. Particularly impressive is “The Width Of A Circle.” “LIVE” was also over 9 minutes, but this work is a great performance of about 13 minutes, which significantly exceeds that. CYBERNAUTS is a project that ideally sublimates the aspirations of music fans. This is a live album that depicts the scene with the finest sound. It is a 100% version of the original version, which is not only longer than the official version “LIVE” but also comparable in sound quality, and is the Japan performance version.
