Description

Like the live album “IN CONCERT” by Derek & The Dominos, the name of guitarist ‘Eric Clapton’ is taken from the masterpiece series that was once released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab under the brand name “Ultradisc II”. We have a lineup of Cream’s second album “DISRAELI GEARS”, which was released in 1967 and quickly became popular worldwide! This work is Cream Clapton’s breakthrough work, and because it is one of Cream’s masterpieces, it was produced with the aim of achieving the best sound. This CD was released in 1992, prior to the previously introduced “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs” and “461 Ocean Boulevard.” Like other CDs, it was produced in limited quantities by borrowing the American 2-track original master tape from Polygram Records (now Universal) at the time, but in terms of sound, CDs usually have higher and lower frequencies. The emphasis was on the midrange and the midrange was poor, giving it the often described “clunky” impression, but this CD, like other CDs, gives the impression that all the ranges are well-balanced and harmonious. . In particular, the sound of the first media known as the “compact disc” had a sharp treble that pierced the ears, which was once misunderstood as “clear.” In comparison, on this CD, the clarity of each instrument and the delicate sound of the vocals stands out. In other words, this was the result of faithfully reproducing the original analog master. This album is literally a masterpiece that you cannot avoid if you are a Clapton fan, a British rock fan, or even if you are planning to listen to Clapton in the future. This is because the band was formed by three talented musicians in the British rock world at the time, and Clapton not only showed innovation in his guitar playing, but also broke new ground in terms of vocals. Among them, the guitar solo and sound in Sunshine Of Your Love was a play that shocked listeners all over the world. Since this work had the sound of a rock band with the minimum number of guitars, bass, and drums, it can be said that it was worth “refining” the sound faithfully to the original analog master. Therefore, this work has been positioned as a work that has been at the center of the competition for higher sound quality in Clapton’s catalog since then, both on CD and LP. What conveys the atmosphere of the psychedelic era of 1967 captured by the recordings of the famous engineer Tom Dowd is the vividness of the musical sounds and the “clearness of silence” in the quiet parts, and this CD captures the atmosphere of the psychedelic era of 1967. I think you will be able to fully enjoy the sharpness. If you listen to this edition, you won’t be able to listen to the first edition regular CD again. Moreover, when Clapton’s catalog was remastered in 1998, this work included both the stereo mix and monaural mix of that time, but this album had the foresight to already include both mix versions. It also had sexuality. In other words, the level of perfection was impossible to complain about. On the other hand, the master used for this album was originally the master tape of the original US edition used by Atco Records in 1967 when they produced this album, but as I have said before, Universal Due to a huge fire that occurred at the company in 2008, most of the artists’ original American master tapes were destroyed, and this American analog master tape of “DISRAELI GEARS” was also destroyed, so the sound quality is no longer higher than that of the original version. It is now impossible to remaster the US master. If you think about it that way, I think it’s good to have a taste of the sound of this board at least once. Taken from the original US Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (UDCD 562) from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab “Original Master Recording” Collection 1. Strange Brew 2. Sunshine Of Your Love 3. World Of Pain 4. Dance The Night Away 5. Blue Condition 6 . Tales Of Brave Ulysses 7. Slabr 8. We’re Going Wron 9. Outside Woman Blues 10. Take It Back 11. Mother’s Lament
