Description
Jimmy Page appeared on stage in Japan for the first time in 21 years since 1972. And David Coverdale was overflowing with joy after finding his long-awaited partner. An original recording is now available that allows you to experience the first performance of these two with 100% real sound. This work includes the “December 14, 1993: Nippon Budokan” performance. Yes, this is the world premiere concert of the legendary project COVERDALE/PAGE. As you know, this project only performed live in Japan. At our store, we have archived many masterpieces of the monument tour. First of all, let’s check the schedule while organizing the collection. ・December 14th: Nippon Budokan ←★Here★ ・December 15th “BUDOKAN 1993 2ND NIGHT” – 1 day travel & off-day ・December 17th “YOYOGI 1993 1ST NIGHT” ・December 18th: Yoyogi National Stadium – 1 day move & off – December 20th “PRIDE & JOY (Osaka Castle)” ・December 21st “OSAKA 1993” ・December 22nd “DEFINITIVE NAGOYA 1993” *Representative works only on each day. That’s all 7 performances. Although it is more than normal for a Japanese performance, it is too small to think that this is the only one in the world. It’s an unfortunate schedule that still makes me feel nervous. Among these, this work, which recorded the unique first day, is an indescribably wonderful vintage audience. This CD has been created directly from the original master of this work, which was given to us by the recording artist himself, and the clear atmosphere from the powerful core to the rhythm section is exquisite. Even more impressive is the sense of stability. It is natural that there is no dubbing deterioration because it is the original master, and there is no shaking or noise during recording, so you can listen carefully from beginning to end.In the first place, there was no recording of the highest level on the first day, and a super big name was assembled. Being able to experience the first stage with this much sound is valuable in itself. What is depicted with such a sound is a show that concentrates the legends of the two people. This is a good opportunity to organize the contents of the set. ●COVERDALE/PAGE (7 songs)・Absolution Blues, Over Now, Pride And Joy, Take A Look At Yourself, Take Me For A Little While, Don’t Leave Me This Way, Shake My Tree ●LED ZEPPELIN (3 songs + α )・Rock And Roll, Kashmir, In My Time Of Dying・Medley: White Summer/Black Mountain Side, Out On The Tiles/Black Dog ●WHITENSAKE (3 songs)・Slide It In, Here I Go Again, Still Of The Night ●Other・The Ocean/Wanton Song/Feeling Hot…and so on. It’s hard to count the number of songs because there are medley arrangements, but I think you can remember the approximate distribution. The image of the project was 50/50 WHITESNAKE/LED ZEPPELIN, but in reality, ZEP color is more intense. ZEP has more songs purely in terms of number of songs, and the original “COVERDALE/PAGE” is basically Page-like. Furthermore, the three songs of WHITESNAKE have arrangements that do not make you feel the significance of Page playing, and in “Still Of The Night”, the main solo is left to the keyboard. For Page, this project was a ZEP-style rehabilitation, and for Coverdale, it was a good opportunity to sing ZEP numbers to the fullest…That kind of internal situation clearly appears. However, what you hear in this work is neither Page’s solo nor ZEP’s cover band, but COVERDALE/PAGE. The reason for this is Coverdale’s passionate performance. It’s only the first day, so Page is still a bit stiff and far from his best, but Coverdale, on the other hand, is extremely excited. Perhaps because he is a fan of ZEP, he has a good grasp of the songs, and his usual Japanese MC skills jump out, screaming lively and singing with ease. Of course, the ensemble’s level of proficiency is still lacking, but Coverdale is definitely the engine that pulls the show forward. Because it’s the first day, that passion and power feel especially reliable. COVERDALE/PAGE, where two people who left huge footprints in rock history stood side by side, ended in a stalemate. This is a masterpiece of a live album that records that first step. A masterpiece that allows you to experience the first day when you are not blessed with a great recording with powerful master sound.
