Description

Approximately 50 minutes of the stage at the Boston Tea Party held on February 22, 1969, is recorded on an official high-quality stereo soundboard. It is of the highest quality, using the recorder’s reel tape directly, and it was around the time when the second work “Valentine Suite” was released, and most of the songs recorded are from the same album. The opening song, Butty’s Blues, featuring Dick Hecktall-Smith’s powerful saxophone solo, is played for 12 minutes, almost twice the length of the album. Drum solo is the future. In addition, January’s Search, which opens the suite “Valentyne Suite” and features Dave Greenslade’s Emerson-like organ solo, is full of speed, and here is a tremendous performance that can be said to be the pinnacle of organ rock. In the following February’s Valentyne, you can hear a classical and moody arrangement that contrasts with the frenzy up to that point, with an effective saxophone overlay. The grand finale is a medley of songs from the 1st album, Beware The Ides Of March. The part where the saxophone and organ perform a spectacular solo on a melody reminiscent of “Blue Shadow” is truly the best sample of British rock from this era. A must-have item for British rock fans! 1. Butty’s Blues 2. The Machine Demands A Sacrifice incl. drums solo The Valentyne Suite 3. January’s Search 4. February’s Valentyne 5. Beware The Ides Of March (Live at Boston Tea Party, Boston, Massachusetts, USA 22nd February 1969 STEREO SBD ) Dave Greenslade – Organ Piano /James Litherland – Vocals & Guitar /Dick Heckstall-Smith – Saxophone /Tony Reeves – Bass/ Jon Hiseman – Drums
