Description
In 2018, after releasing an album under JCM (John Clem Mark) and performing several live shows, British jazz rock veteran John Hiseman passed away on June 12th from a brain tumour. One of the memorial items for Hisman is this title, and the show at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on February 28, 2015, which was the most important Coliseum live performance in his long career, was recorded completely from the DAT audience master for 107 minutes. Recorded from a taper-owned audience master, the airiness and clarity unique to DAT is wonderful, there is a lot of direct feeling with almost no distance, and the warm sound, which is different from the sound board with exposed PA output sound, is very comfortable. First of all, the final album “TIME ON OUR SIDE” was released in 11 years the year before, but Barbara Thompson’s Parkinson’s disease worsened and the disbandment was decided, so this day was the last show with the disbandment announced in advance. Starting with the first song on the first album, “Walking In The Park”, it was a development that summarized the career, and three songs from “TIME ON OUR SIDE” were performed. “Blues To Music,” featuring John and Barbara’s daughter Ana Gracie, was a favorite of Dick Hextall-Smith, and her duet with Chris Farlowe is also wonderful. “Morning Story,” written by the late Jack Bruce and with lyrics by Pete Brown, is a memorable number that was also performed at the early Coliseum II. And the 20-minute masterpiece “Valentyne Suite” is a passionate performance, with a drum solo by Heisman that lasts for over 8 minutes, bringing to mind the energetic figure of the band when they were alive. This is a must-have memorial item for fans. Disc 1 : 1. Introduction 2. Walking in the Park 3. Jon Hiseman Introduction 4. Morning Story 5.
