Description
A collection of rare recordings by genius trumpeter Clifford Brown. Discovered by jazz giants such as Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker, he became a bop evangelist in the mid-1950s. During this period, he was a famous trumpeter who was even said to surpass Miles Davis. Unfortunately, in 1956, he suddenly passed away in a car accident. Therefore, his active period was very short, and this is a long-awaited release for fans who have listened to the official album from beginning to end. From takes that didn’t make it into the official release, from unreleased live shows to home demos, the sound quality has been adjusted and included in four CDRs organized by year. The members are gorgeous, including Max Roach, Eric Dolphy, Sonny Rollins, and Dinah Washington. A must-have collection. “1954” Disc 1: Clifford Brown (Tp.P) Eric Dolphy(As) Harold Land (Ts) Richie Powell (P) George Morrow (B) Max Roach (Dr) Eric Dolphy’s Garage / Studio LA Jun 1954 01 Unknown 02 Fine And Dandy 03 Wahoo 04 Crazeology 05 Old Folks 06 Deception “1954” Disc 2: Clifford Brown (Tp.P) Eric Dolphy(As) Harold Land (Ts) Richie Powell (P) George Morrow (B) Max Roach (Dr) Eric Dolphy’s Garage / Studio LA Jun 1954 01 Unknown 02 Deception Clifford Brown (Tp) Teddy Edwards (Ts) Carl Perkins (P) George Bledsoe (B) Max Roach (Dr) LA Apr 1954 03 Quasimado 04 Dewey Square 05 Second Balcony Jump Clifford Brown (Tp) Clark Terry (Tp) Maynard Ferguson (Tp) Harb Geller (As) Harold Land (Ts) Richie Powell (P) Junior Mance (P) Keter Betts (B) George Marrow (B) Max Roach (Dr) Dinah Washington (Voc) Outtakes Of The Studio Session LA.Aug 14 1954 06 I’ve Got You Under My Skin 07 No More 08 Darn That Dream 09 You Go To My Head “1955” Disc 3: Clifford Brown (Tp) Harold Land (Ts ) Richie Powell (P) George Marrow (B) Max Roach (Dr) Radio Broadcast Stroyville Boston Feb 11 1955 01 A Gerkin For Diz 02 It Might As Well As Spring Clifford Brown (Tp) Sonny Rollins (Ts) Nicky Hill (Ts) Billy Wallace (P) Leo Blevins (G) George Morrow (B) Max Roach (Dr) 03 A Night In Tunisia 04 Billie’s Bounce Clifford Brown With Unknown Personal Clifford Brown’s Home Philadelphia 1955 05 There Will Never Be Anotheer You 06 Our Love Is Here To Stay 07 Blues 08 Chat 09 Something I’m Happy(Pt.1) 10 Something I’m Happy(Pt.2) 11 Blues “1956” Disc 4: Clifford Brown (Tp) Sonny Rollins (Ts) Richie Powell (P) George Morrow (B) Max Roach (Dr) Radio Broadcast Mirrored Cocktail Lounge Town Casino Rochester ,NY,Late Feb 1956 01 Intro 02 Daahoud 03 Interview With Max Roach 04 Round Midnight 05 The Blues Walk Clifford Brown With Unknown Personal May – Jun 1956 06 Jordu Cliford Brown With Unknown Personal Chicago early 1956 07 Diggin’ For Diz Cliford Brown With Unknown Personal Chicago early 1956 tv show “soupy’s on” feb 20 – 27 1956 08 Lady Be Good 09 Memory’s Of You Clifford Brown (Tp) Clifford Brown’s Home Philadelphia 1956 10 Cherokee 11 Cherokee
