Chris Potter Quartet Chris Potter/Live Collection 2001 Vol.2

Currently (2024), Chris Potter, who is well-known as one of the best saxophone players, is touring the masterpiece album “Gratitude,” which paid tribute to the great predecessors who became his roots. This is the second item in a series of items that culminates the 2001 live performance. The members are Kevin Hayes, Scott Colley, and Brian Blade, the same as “Gratitude.” All the sound sources are high-quality soundboards and have been remastered, so even beginners to collectors’ items can enjoy them with confidence. At the live performance on May 3rd, Kevin Hayes plays electric piano on “SHADOW” and “THE MIND’S EYE.” Even if you listen to the same songs on other days, the electric piano is only heard on this day. It is a rare track that you can enjoy a different flavor from the acoustic piano. The sound source of the Montreal Jazz Festival is the master of the radio broadcast sound source, and the DJ’s talk in French has been cut and edited, but according to the DJ’s introduction, the drummer was said to be Clarence Penn.
