Description
Chris Potter, who is said to be the pinnacle of modern saxophone jazz, is known for his free-flowing, versatile, perfect tempo changes, and ultra-technique exchanges. This is the first release of the Circuits Trio, a group that derived from his masterpiece “Circuits,” which contains everything he has to offer. This is the first release that will make all jazz fans go wild! This is the latest live performance by the irregular Circuits Trio, held at the Jazz Standard in New York on May 2, 2019, with Chris, Francis, and Marcus Gilmore on drums, who is now the first call for all famous musicians. This two-disc set has been carefully mastered by the label, and contains the entire concert, which lasts for over an hour and a half, in the highest quality stereo sound, so high that you’ll feel as if you’re listening to it right in front of you! The 2019 album “Circuits” is an electric work that makes full use of overdubbing, and can be said to be a monumental piece that represents the new generation of jazz. They reproduced it live, and with a trio! It was an incredible performance! Being a trio gave them more freedom, but it was a double-edged sword. The burden on each member was greater, and if they didn’t have the ability, the performance would not last. If they were not careful, it could lead to the song falling apart. Amidst this tension, Marcus’s steady drumming, which was all odd time signatures and was as precise as a rhythm box, was filled with side dishes that made use of his superb technique, and the amazing drumming that no one had ever heard before, Francis’ ambient, colorful keyboards and playful playing like a toy piano, and even though he was bassless, he played a superb bass with a pedal! The performance was full of energy, and Chris, the only acoustic instrument, threw in some fierce improvisations with freedom…I was completely hooked!
