Chris Potter, one of the pinnacles of modern jazz saxophone, teamed up with Brad Mehldau and the strongest rhythm section of John Patitucci and Brian Blade to form a quartet that will release the album “Eagle’s Point” in March 2024. The live performance at the French Jazz Festival on July 9th, which was held with the album, was recorded in full for 1 hour and 40 minutes in official quality from the radio on-air master and soundboard sound source. First of all, although Brian Blade unfortunately did not participate on this day, Blue Note label drummer Jonathan Blake participated, and starting with the first song of “Eagle’s Point”, “Dream of Home”, up to “Other Plans”, they performed one after another in the order of the album. As a result, all the album numbers except “Malaga Moon” were played, and although Potter uses sequencers and tries electric approaches, here he plays an authentic jazz style, and Mehldau’s delicate piano fits perfectly with it.
