Description
Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Brian Blade. We present to you the latest live performance of the three members of the Wayne Shorter Quartet (formed in 2000), recorded from the broadcast in Basel, Switzerland on April 17th, which is a must-see for fans. Along with Brad Mehldau, Danilo was a pioneer in boldly incorporating the now commonplace “contrapuntal combination of left and right hands” into the jazz world. And John concentrated on the bass. He plays arpeggio-like phrases in an eloquent solo that uses a lot of high notes. Brian creates everything from serenity to carnival-like frenzy. There are countless attractive players in the jazz drum world today, but the dynamics that Brian creates are exceptional. The program includes the title song from the 2015 album “Children of the Light,” “Moonlight on Congo Square” (“Congo Square” is a square in New Orleans considered to be one of the birthplaces of jazz), and “Lumen.” Three years have passed since then, and the music has further developed and expanded, and each song approaches with a magnificent sound.
