Description
This is a recording of the live performance in Amsterdam, Netherlands on April 10th, the first day of the European tour in April 1964, remastered by an overseas enthusiast group who unearthed the sound source of the previous work “Complete Stuttgart 1964” and has been released on disc for the first time. It is a sound source that enthusiasts will drool over. In the past, starting with a 3-disc LP on the DIW label, various CDs (Jazz Collectors, Ulysee Musique) were also released. However, all of the products contained hiss noise that occurred in the original source, and the title that was said to be the definitive version was long awaited due to the sound image with an abnormally low range (range width). This work released this time has been remastered to the best condition with the balance of each instrument, track ID correction, and range, making it a sound source that anyone can listen to and press as the definitive version. There are various theories about the order of the songs played. Since it was the first day of the tour, Eric Dolphy’s enthusiasm is clearly different. Sadly, he passed away in Berlin in June from a heart attack caused by diabetes. Please come and experience this amazing live performance where you can feel Dolphy’s soul.
