Description
In 1965, Lloyd became famous as part of the legendary quartet with Keith Jarrett and Jack DeJohnette, but retired in the 1970s and made a full-fledged comeback in the 1980s. We don’t know what happened to Lloyd, but after his comeback, his music became more introspective. The crystallization of Lloyd’s work can be heard on “All My Relations,” released by ECM in 1994. The wonderful support of Sweden’s representative aesthetic pianist Bobo Stenson and the participation of Billy Hart, who found his spot, add to the beauty of the album. This work is a recording of a live performance in Lugano, Switzerland in 1998, with Stenson and Hart as the quartet, on a superb high-quality soundboard. Lloyd’s tenor and flute are wonderful, and Stenson’s lyrical piano is a masterpiece that expands the mysterious world of the 1994 masterpiece!
