Description
Captain Beyond, formed in 1971 by Rod Evans after leaving Deep Purple with former members of Iron Butterfly and Johnny Winter Band, was a supergroup that garnered attention. After disbanding in the mid-70s, they reformed in the late 90s and held live shows, but in 2017 they will be back on the road again and touring the US. The club gig at The Eel in Atlanta on August 16th is recorded in full by Digital Audience Master. Although the only original member left is drummer Bobby Caldwell, this album is a tearjerker for 70’s hard rock fans, with songs from the famous first album released in 1972 and songs from the second album, “The Ultimate Shock”.
