From the 1975 performance in Japan, the live concert held at Shiba Postal Savings Hall in Tokyo on March 9th and 11th is recorded. Although it was released as a record at the time, it is a fantastic live sound source that was shelved as it is. Although it was recorded on a soundboard, the balance of the instruments is slightly unbalanced, and there is some noise because it is an analog master, but the content is the best blues. At the show, members include Buddy’s younger brother Phil, famous saxophonist A.C. Reed, and guest Junior Wells. As for the performance, first (Disc 1) is a list of Buddy’s representative songs! They performed “First Time I Met the Blues,” “Stone Crazy,” and even Butterfield Blues Band’s “Work Song.” And on (Disc 2), Junior Wells appears and plays a series of the duo’s representative songs, as well as Maddy’s number. In particular, the part where “Hoochie Coochie Man” flows directly into “Trouble No More” gives me goosebumps. A must-listen for blues enthusiasts.
