Description
“Horoscope” was announced as a new work by Bryan Ferry from around 1990, but was never completed. It can be said to be Ferry’s version of “Smile”. From the leaked recordings, it has a difficult and gloomy content, as the late Yuji Konno described it, “like a dinosaur that has grown too big and can no longer move”. Although some of the songs were later re-recorded on “Mamouna”, the whole picture is still shrouded in mystery. It is possible that the original recordings were reworked or completely re-recorded, but at this stage, it is the recording that best represents the album “Horoscope”. As for the tracks included, Gemini Moon, N.Y.C, The 39 Steps, and The Only Face were re-recorded and included on “Mamouna”. Mother Of Pearl is a cover of Roxy. Blinded By The Life I’m Living, Midnight Train, and Your Love Has Died are currently unreleased. This recording is the same as “Horoscope” (currently out of print) that was previously released by WITHDRAWN label, but the sound quality has been improved several times, the track order has been changed, and it has become a more complete work. This is the best edition of “Horoscope” that feels like it could be included in the official release for the first time, and it is incomparable to the versions that have been released so far, including the large hiss noise and analog noise that have been found in various places.
