Description

From the European tour accompanying “Frantic” in 2002, the Amsterdam performance in the Netherlands will be released on September 9th with a superb soundboard. After the end of the Roxy Music reunion tour that lasted from June to October 2001, Bryan Ferry, who released his solo album “Frantic” in April 2002, started the “Frantic” tour immediately in May. The band members are almost the same as those of the previous Roxy reunion tour, just like Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay, but the original Roxy drummer Paul Thompson continues to participate. This recording is thought to be based on FM broadcasts, and only about half of the 21 songs played that day, 12 songs, are recorded, but the concert’s composition is well maintained due to the tasteful song selection. The first three songs are acoustic, and the third song, “Carrickfergus,” is a great choice for long-time fans, featuring the harp of the talented blonde beauty Julia Thornton. From the fifth song, “Limbo,” the full band performance is enjoyed, with a lineup of Roxy and solo hits. What’s interesting is that in the eleventh song, “Let’s Stick Together,” Ferry makes a mistake in the part he sings, which disrupts the song’s structure and causes a very rare accident in which the performance loops. The last song, “I Thought,” is one of the best songs on the album “Frantic,” and was written in collaboration with Eno, which was thought to be impossible, and is performed here in an up-tempo version with a beautiful chorus, making it the highlight of the album. Bonus tracks include rare singles from Frantic that were not included in the album, such as “Mother of Pearl” and “Crazy Love” from the CD single “One Way Love,” and “Smoke Dreams” from the CD single “Goddess of Love.” In particular, “Mother of Pearl” is a newly recorded version of “Horoscope Session,” which was also included in the soundtrack “Ordinary Decent Criminal,” and the official version is extremely rare. This time, it also comes with the popular beautiful jacket design that will be a great addition to your collection. Live at Heineken Hall, Amsterdam, Holland 9th September 2002 STEREO SBD (67:08) 1.
