Description

A rare US promotion-only 7-inch single containing Stereo/Mono versions of the two singles “Born To Run” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” from the album “BORN TO RUN” released in 1975. This is a happy reprint. “BORN TO RUN” has been released for 41 years, and two songs from this album have been released as singles. Both songs, Born To Run and Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, occupy important positions in blues live performances to this day. These two songs were created as stereo/mono editions as promotional editions. First of all, with Born To Run, if you listen closely to stereo/mono, you can probably hear the difference between stereo and mono. If you listen closely, you’ll notice that Bruce’s vocals have been given a deep echo treatment in the stereo version. It feels like the Spector sound that Blues loved has been recreated. Is it a different mix compared to the mono version? That’s what I think. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, on the other hand, has a completely sharp sound. The main point of this song, which is said to be inspired by Memphis soul, is the horn section. The horn part using Becker Brothers has a sharpness unique to a 7-inch single. I think the mono version has a sound reminiscent of the nostalgic 60’s Stax Records monaural recordings. Taken from US Promotional 7 inch Singles (Columbia 3-10209/3-10274) 01.
