Description

The final day of the six-night performance at the New York Palladium, which marked the end of 1976, when Bruce’s recording activities stopped due to a lawsuit with his first manager, was recorded with the best mono soundboard recording. There is a mono soundboard recording of this day that was broadcast on the radio at the time, and it is a standard sound source that has produced many items since the analog boot era. However, the overall pitch instability and, above all, the rough sound quality were problems, and only Great Dane’s “We Gotta Get Outta This Place” was released on CD. In particular, the Great Dane version was released with a rush start, including not only the above problems, but also the sound fluctuation that occurs in “Something In The Night”, a problem that did not exist in the analog era, and the condition that was too difficult to listen to as music alienated this sound source from fans. However, the recently released sound source not only solved the problem of “Something In The Night” on the Great Dane board by mixing three types of tapes, including the old one, but also achieved the best sound quality ever throughout the entire album. In particular, the improvement in sound quality of the new master used in most of the show is wonderful, and everyone will be amazed at the clear sound quality that easily surpasses the sound quality of past items from the LP era. This is clear when you listen to the opening “Night”. However, even this version, which has improved sound quality, had an overall pitch error when it was released, and in the editing of “Sandy” and “Rosalita”, where the sound source is switched in the middle of the performance, the different pitches depending on the sound source were recorded without being corrected, which caused a different listening difficulty from the past titles. However, in this release, the pitch error that changes in various places has been perfectly adjusted! It has been recorded in the best condition. At the end of the show, Ronnie Spector appears and plays oldies with the E Street Band backing him up, and the Animals’ “We Gotta Get Outta This Place,” a special cover performance only performed on this day, can finally be heard with accurate pitch and the best sound quality ever. Although the 1976 live performance originally lacked a definitive sound source, the title that will be the definitive version of this tour and this day has finally been released.
