Description
A super high quality original soundboard album is now available in the ultimate specifications. This work contains the performance of “Shibuya Public Hall on October 22, 2003”. This is the definitive live album that recorded the full show on an abnormal soundboard that is the best of the people involved. Speaking of BSO, we are looking forward to their ninth visit to Japan in four years in January next year, but this work is a part of their fifth Japan tour. First of all, let’s check the show’s position on the schedule. ・October 22 + 23: Shibuya Public Hall ←★Here★ ・October 25: Zepp Sendai ・October 26: Nagoya City Public Hall ・October 28 + 29: Namba Hatch ・October 30: Hiroshima Welfare Pension Hall ・November 1 + 2: Zepp Tokyo ・November 3: Pacifico Yokohama National Hall All 10 performances in total. BSO still boasts a strong popularity, but this number of performances is the most ever. It was a Japan tour at the height of its popularity. The Shibuya Public Hall performance of this work was the first premiere. The biggest point of this work is the “super soundboard” quality. The soundboard album “TOKYO 2006 FINAL NIGHT” with THE NASHVILLAINS, which was released the other day, is also very popular, but this work was brought from the same unique route. And the quality even surpasses “TOKYO 2006 FINAL NIGHT”! In fact, I don’t know how to express this sound. Although “Hell Bent” at the beginning of disc 2 is slightly missing, everything else is perfect. Despite the large number of people, each sound is completely separated super clearly, and the amplitude of each sound is beautifully captured from the start to the silence. It’s easy to call it “official”, but it’s more than that. In fact, there was also an official work “THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION” at this time, but it is a world apart from the official version that was adjusted by mixing and mastering. The bare singing voice / performance that jumps out of the soundboard desk is exactly the rawness of the recording. It can be said that it lacks realism because there are almost no cheers, but on the contrary, “the feeling that BSO is right in front of you” and “the sense of synchronization with BSO” easily surpass even the official. I have handled line sound sources leaked by related parties in various bands, but among them, this is an exceptional “super soundboard”. Some of you may be thinking “I’ve seen it somewhere …” after reading this far. Yes, this recording is the same as the masterpiece “SLIP INTO A NIGHT” that once shook the industry. This time, it has been re-released on CD from the original master. And this time, we pursue the “extreme” suitable for permanent preservation. While making the sound even more vivid, the stereo feeling that was leaning to the right in the previous release was also properly corrected. To be honest, it’s not a big change that will change everything, but even if you check every corner carefully, that’s all you can do. It was such a perfect soundboard master. The show depicted by that sound is also wonderful. Brian Setzer delivers the best and most fun rock and roll/rockabilly in various forms, from trio to BSO, but the core of his career is still BSO. More than 10 years after its formation, the ensemble is fully open and ripe. What’s more, it’s good that it’s one stage through. The official album “THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION” mentioned above had a completely different show mood for each disc, but this work is a genuine one-night performance. In addition, a large number of famous songs that could not be heard in “THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION” are also shown. From STRAY CATS’ standard “(She’s) Sexy + 17” to the rare “Folsom Prison Blues” and “Smokin’ ‘N Burnin'”, 11 of the 25 songs do not overlap with “THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION”. It is a great live album to listen to as a sequel or supplement to the official work. It is a “super sound board” that is of official quality, but with a vividness that surpasses the official work. It is a masterpiece of Live in Japan that plays a lot of famous songs that can not be heard even in the official work with that sound. It is an exceptional and exceptional superb live album in the Setzer collection. Live at Shibuya Kokaido, Tokyo, Japan 22nd October 2003 STEREO SBD(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (48:59) 1.
