Description
In 1992, Randy and Michael returned to the scene under the name BB with the album “Return Of The Brecker Brothers,” produced with the best backing musicians. After that, they participated in a reunion tour and jazz festivals on the Euro Tour in 1994. The show at the music festival held in Cologne, Germany on May 15th and 16th was recorded on a soundboard for 2 hours and 17 minutes in total. First, the recording was made from the radio on-air master at the time, and the first day’s performance was recorded in full, and two songs that were not performed there were added from the performance on the second day. In addition, the latest digital remastering has been applied to upgrade the quality. The album is centered on the songs from the reunion, and the interplay that cannot be expressed in studio recordings, with Michael’s powerful tenor and Randy’s petal at the forefront, explodes throughout the album. In particular, the opening “Harpoon” is reminiscent of the tense fusion of the 70s, and the following “AFRICAN SKIES” are early performances from “Out of the Loop”, the second album after the reunion to be released in the fall of that year. In addition, the intense “SOME SKUNK FUNK” from “Heavy Metal Be Bop” and “Song For Barry”, which opens with Michael’s monologue-like tenor solo, are tear-jerking for fans, and the members include James Jinas (b) and other members who participated in the album, and the final masterpiece by the Brecker Brothers, which can no longer be heard now, is here in the best quality.
