Description

From the 1977 North American tour, the Rochester performance on September 28th was recorded on a sound board. With the ideal sound, you can enjoy the spectacular performance. Since Genesis was on the “Storm of Silence” tour that year, Kenwood Dennard played the drums instead of Phil Collins. (Live performances with this lineup are famous in the official “Livestock” and “Timeline”). Until now, only very short ones have been released, and this is the first time that such a comprehensive release of the early and late shows has been released. In any case, the ensemble full of originality of X, the highest peak brand of jazz rock, which sets it apart from the so-called fusion, is magnificent! In a word, you will be completely knocked out by the supreme sound of the straight game, full of tension, and the rock power elements that can be heard in Malaga Virgen (the superb high-speed unison that is terribly in sync), a masterpiece of technical jazz rock that shows off Jones’s superb playing, and Why Should I Lend You Mine (the key points are amazing), which is a culmination of BRAND X. In particular, the flexible playing of Kenwood Dennard (who also participated in Pat Martino and Jaco’s later works) is so detailed that it gives you goosebumps. It is also nice to hear Earth Dance and Access To Data, which are being premiered on this day, which are included on Disc 2 this time. This is a very valuable item from the period when BRAND X was at its most fulfilling. Please enjoy 104 minutes of the performance of a flawless, perfect technical group that also emits European color beauty.
