Description

Boz Scaggs in the 1990s was a symbol of AOR and enjoyed enduring popularity. The best multi-camera pro shots of his performances in Japan have been released. This work was filmed at the “March 28, 1993: NHK Hall” performance. This is the ninth Japan tour. Boz has visited Japan many times, but his heyday was from 1988 to 1995. He visited Japan repeatedly for two years and showed us his wonderful singing voice almost every year. This work is the best pro shot of that era. First of all, let’s check the position of the show in the 1993 schedule. March 22: Nakano Sun Plaza March 24: Kawasaki City Industrial Culture Hall March 27: Shibuya Public Hall March 28: NHK Hall [This work] All four performances. Although the venues are different, they are all in the Kanto region. There were no regional performances this year, and the NHK Hall performance in this work was the last day. This show was filmed by a certain satellite broadcasting station and broadcast on television. This work is a digitized version of the air check master from that time. The quality is superb. Although 25 years have already passed, it seems to have been digitized from the recording master itself, and there are no dubbing marks or tape twists. Although there is a momentary noise in the audio at the opening of the program before the show starts, there is no other deterioration that seems to be deterioration. What’s even more amazing is the broadcast quality of that time. As mentioned above, it was a satellite broadcast, and the visual beauty that is impossible on terrestrial broadcasting (at that time) is super delicate even for eyes that are accustomed to modern digital standards. Although it has a slightly reddish color, this is not due to deterioration but to the lighting on site, and it is so exquisite that it is an illusion that it was created from an official laser disc. The quality depicts a number of hit songs spelled out with a rich singing voice. A group of famous songs that took the world by storm in the 1970s, centered on the masterpiece “SILK DEGREES”, are played in abundance, and it is as luxurious as watching “HITS!” with your eyes. Moreover, it is not just a greatest hits. Although it was not selected from “OTHER ROADS”, it was a big deal from “SOME CHANGE” which was not yet released at the time. In addition to the title song, “Follow That Man”, “I Lost It”, and even “Illusion” are shown, although they are tentative titles. What’s even more delicious is the cover. In addition to Joe Simon’s “Drowning In The Sea Of Love”, which was also sung in “THE NEW YORK ROCK AND SOUL REVUE: LIVE AT THE BEACON”, Curtis Mayfield’s precious “Gypsy Woman” can be enjoyed with official-grade superb professional shots. And the band that plays such a set is also wonderful. James “Hutch” Hutchinson, who was also known for his work with Ricky Futer and Bonnie Raitt, who were his right-hand men at the time, freely beats the beat, and Kevin Benz’s piano rolls comfortably. The ensemble foreshadows the upcoming masterpiece “SOME CHANGE”. Guitarist Kevin Dukes did not participate in “SOME CHANGE,” but he was also a guitarist loved by superstars such as Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, and Don Henley. His deep tone makes the classics shine even more. Boz in 1993, who depicted a group of historic masterpieces with casual taste and deep flavor. This is a 100-minute recording of that Japan performance with official, superb multi-camera pro shots. This is the perfect piece for late summer, when the signs of autumn are quietly creeping in.
