Description
The “FRENCH KISS” era, which achieved success beyond the FLEETWOOD MAC era with his solo debut, is here. This precious and exquisite live album is here. This work contains the “Seattle performance on April 22, 1978”. “FRENCH KISS” was released in September 1977. This is a vacuum-packed audience recording of a concert about five months later. The sound is simply neat. There is no distortion or muffledness at all, and a stable and clear airiness flows out. The bass drum and the vocal extension have an audience-like feel, so you won’t mistake it for a soundboard, but the airiness is crystal clear. The guitar can be clearly felt even with the slightest choking shake, and the drums draw a beautiful mountain with each hit of the snare. The singing voice is clear not only to one word of the lyrics, but to one syllable. And yet, unlike the bland line recording, the heartfelt singing voice is wrapped in a faint acoustic and sounds moist and lustrous. What makes such beautiful sound shine even more is the breath of the audience. Although they get enthusiastic between songs, once the performance starts, it becomes silent. Of course, if Bob stirs up the crowd, they cheer between songs, but that stops soon and they listen carefully to the beautiful melody. Despite the fact that it was a big hit, and despite the fact that it was the 1970s America that loved to make a fuss, the performance and singing voice are beautifully filled. It is a beautiful recording that is far from the image of the word “1970s audience”. There is a reason why it is such a great recording. In fact, it was the legendary recording artist “Bill B” who made this work. Moreover, it was digitized directly from the original cassette that he treasured. It is a piece that is full of the freshness that comes from the ultimate freshness and the extremely clear sound that comes from the legendary taper. What’s even more wonderful is the show itself, which is drawn with such beautiful sound. The set features seven songs from the smash hit “FRENCH KISS,” which are connected by PARIS’s “Big Towne, 2061” and FLEETWOOD MAC’s masterpieces. FLEETWOOD MAC’s selection is evenly spread out, and if you count “Sentimental Lady,” one or two songs from each of Bob’s albums, from “FUTURE GAMES” to “HEROES ARE HARD TO FIND,” are scattered throughout the album. Speaking of this tour, the legendary “CALIFORNIA JAM II” soundboard is a representative example, but that is a short set for festivals. This work is full-scale, and you can enjoy “Easy To Fall,” “Future Games,” “Revelation,” “Bermuda Triangle,” and “Miles Away,” which you can’t hear on Calijam 2, with the best sound of a famous recorder. And the performance of “THE BEST OF BOB WELCH” is also wonderful. This day was about two months after the start of the tour, and the combination of the new band, which had been building up one performance per day, was starting to solidify. And yet there was no sign of fatigue, and all the songs were full of fresh vitality. Not only was the big song “Future Games” featured, but “Big Towne, 2061” and “Outskirts” were also performed on a scale of eight minutes, far longer than the original, and were full of passionate performances worthy of a new beginning. After FLEETWOOD MAC and PARIS, Bob Welch blossomed with his solo debut. This is a live album where the winds of fulfillment and success waft from the speakers. The fresh scent of 1978 that only the original cassettes of famous recording artists could leave behind.
