Description
Since the recording of Dylan’s ninth album “Nashville Skyline” released in 1969, he has been working on sessions and recordings at studios in Nashville in parallel with Columbia Studios in New York, which had been his main recording studio until then. This compilation of sessions at both Columbia Recording Studios from February 13 to June 4, 1969, has been made with master quality and soundboard recordings leaked by those involved. First, his inclination towards country music, which had been seen in “John Wesley Harding” at the time, became more and more evident, and he produced “Nashville Skyline” in Nashville, the home of country music, with his beloved great Johnny Cash as a guest. This album is a roughly chronological compilation of rare sessions from the album, as well as the works that would be included in subsequent albums. As a result, valuable sessions with strong country influences were compiled on albums such as “Self Portrait,” which includes many songs such as “Let It Be Me” and “Living The Blues,” and “New Dawn,” which includes “If Not For You,” which was also recorded with George Harrison.Incidentally, the success of these albums led many rock musicians, including the Byrds, to take an interest in country music, and the term “country rock” was coined.
