Description

Speaking of Mike Millard, he is synonymous with ZEP’s audience recordings, and it surprised fans all over the world that he recorded Dylan in 1978, but the Dylan LA performance that he recorded was in June. It is held continuously from the 1st to the 7th. Under such circumstances, his recordings have been unearthed on the first and third days, but finally the best audience recording that captured the final day was also unearthed. Jimmy Page of ZEP, whom Millard admired, came to Japan and was pleased with the Dylan title of our store, and I can’t help but feel a strange coincidence that Millard’s further Dylan sound source appeared. yeah. It is such a sound source on the last day of LA, but the sound quality is really wonderful this time as well. There is no need to bring up words such as “clearness” and “on sound image”, but there is no other way than to lose words at Millard’s miraculous feat of recording so far in 1978. The tendency of the sound image is that it is closer to the first day than the third day that appeared earlier, and there is no doubt that you will be overwhelmed by the tremendous sound pressure from there. As expected of Millard, I have surrendered to this perfect recording. However…Is there a difference in feelings compared to ZEP and Yes? I wasn’t able to record it completely this time either (bitter smile). On the first day, only the first half was missing, and on the third day, the first few songs were missing, but this time it was a shame that the recording started from the middle of “Mr. Tambourine Man”. As the recording time gradually increased from the first day to the third day, will this last day finally be a complete recording? I expected that, but the fact that the beginning of the live performance could not be recorded is still a negative point no matter how much Millard recorded it. Therefore, this time as well, by supplementing the unrecorded parts with another sound source, we achieved the same complete recording as on the 3rd! However, that is a given if it is our store’s release concept. More than that, the surprise this time is that the other sound source is also a recording of very wonderful sound quality. It is an excellent audience recording that boasts a clearness different from that of Mirrored, and as a result of supplementing with this sound source, it has become a wonderful recording state where you can enjoy the entire story from the opening to the end with the finest sound quality. After all, the sound quality of the separate sound source is superb, so you may not be able to understand the editing even if you listen to “Mr. Tambourine Man”, which combines the two sound sources. That’s how we achieved complete recording with the highest quality sound! As it was the last day of the seven-day performance, the repertoire was expanded and the second half became more luxurious. First is the reggae version of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right,” which was not played on the 3rd. This is popular as one of the boldly arranged live repertoires representing the 1978 tour, but being able to listen to the reggae version with the overwhelming quality that is unique to Millard will be a big attraction. In addition, “Oh Sister” and “Simple Twist Of Fate”, which had been played as regulars during the Japan performance but had not been played since entering LA, were also played. The gorgeous set list unique to the last day also has a great charm that is different from the other two days that have been released so far. We have released this amazing Millard Dylan finest sound source with complete recording, and we confidently recommend it not only to Dylan fans but also to rare sound source fans!
