Description
Before the European tour of EARLS COURT 1978, which was released, Dylan and the band performed for a week at Universal Amphitheater in LA. This was done as a warm-up gig in preparation for the upcoming tour. However, it is a tour where Dylan showed off his big name at famous venues such as Budokan and Earl’s Court. Under such circumstances, the gig in LA had a special position in 1978 when they traveled around the world. The week-long gig had an audience for all performances, and it had been released many times since the LP. However, this time we will be releasing the first appearance sound source recorded from the performance on June 1st, the first day. However, the audience recording is unfortunately an incomplete recording of only the second set. Still, there is a reason why we decided to release it. Surprisingly, this recording was made by Mike Millard, the charismatic taper who is well known for his superb recording of the 1977 ZEP live show of “LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE”! A new sound source by Millard, whose existence was unknown until now, and a recording of Dylan’s live performance, recently appeared among fans and became a hot topic. A first generation cassette tape that had been copied by Millard was recently discovered. Unfortunately, only the second set was recorded, and in terms of location, it could be likened to the second day of ZEP Long Beach 75. However, the sound quality is at the highest level, worthy of being called Mike Millard quality. While delicate tape hiss drifts, the performance is recorded with a tremendous balance. In addition to such superb quality sound quality, Dylan and the band are playing with an upper tension that seems to be the first day of warming up. Please thoroughly enjoy the performance, which is a little different from regular tours, with the best sound quality. In front of this sound source that I would like to call a truly divine recording, this time it will be released as a single disc that respects the condition of the mirrored sound source. Although it is certainly incomplete in terms of content, it is a mirrored recording so full of elegance that it feels foolish to combine it with past sound sources. If you listen to it, I’m sure you’ll be convinced. It is guaranteed that you will enjoy listening to and comparing with Earl’s Court, which was held three weeks later. After all, Millard was amazing even when recording Dylan! Live at Universal Amphitheater, Los Angeles, CA. USA 1st June 1978 TRULY PERFECT SOUND 1st night of warm-up shows in Los Angeles(70:14) 1.
