Description

From the Japan tour in December 1993, when John Sykes came to Japan for the second time as BLUE MURDER, on the second day, December 4th, he performed at the Postal Insurance Hall in Tokyo, and the original DAT master was released for the first time. Appeared in an ultra-high quality audience recording! You can thoroughly enjoy the complete picture of the stage, part of which was included in the official live album, with a realistic document captured from the audience seat side! BLUE MURDER was founded by John Sykes, who left WHITESNAKE, with veteran players Carmine Appice and Tony Franklin in the rhythm section, and created a huge buzz with their first album, “BLUE MURDER,” released in 1989. I did. On the Japan tour that took place in August of the same year, in addition to the excellent songs from the album, the set list included representative songs from each of the three members, as well as thrilling interplay backed by their high playability. It took the fans by surprise. They stood out among the powerful bands that appeared at the same time, such as BADLANDS and Mr. BIG, and won the support of their fans. After that tour, the band began working on their second album, but various problems made it difficult. In fact, four years had passed until the second album was released as “NOTHIN’ BUT TROUBLE” in September 1993 (although they participated in the recording, Carmine and Franklin left one after another during that time). (This also prolonged the band’s “silence”). The band lineup when the album was released included Sykes, Marco Mendoza on bass, and Tommy Osteen on drums. In addition, Nick Green, who collaborated on the first album, was added as a keyboard player (Kelly Keeling also participated in some vocals on the album). BLUE MURDER will make their long-awaited return to Japan in December 1993 with the release of their long-awaited album. The tour started with the Tokyo Employees’ Pension Hall on December 3rd and ended with the Shibuya Public Hall performance on December 12th, and this work includes the second day of the tour, which is the Tokyo Postal Insurance Hall performance on December 4th. , it is completely recorded with an audience source with a wonderful sound from the DAT master that is completely unknown even among traders and is completely new. This is a recording. I take my hat off to this taper for his strong feelings towards Sykes and LIZZY.) Immediately after playing the disc, the excitement of the venue is palpable and the sense of presence and excellent visibility leave the listener numb. “Riot” opens with a profound and solemn opening, just as they did on their first visit to Japan in 1989. The main character, John’s vocals and guitar, are clearly captured from the beginning, making it an outstanding listen. The sound quality in the venue solidifies After “Dance” and “Cry For Love,” the sound quality becomes even better, allowing you to enjoy the live performance with an ideal sound image that combines ease of listening to the performance and a sense of realism. At a live show in 1989, when Carmine and Franklin were members, songs such as “Hot Legs” and “Closer” emphasized their “equal band-ness.” In 1993, when both of them left, there was a strong trend of Sykes soloing both in name and reality. But it’s also a “narrower focus” for fans, allowing them to fully enjoy Sykes’ guitar and background. The THIN LIZZY number “Cold Sweat” eloquently illustrates this fact and is the highlight of the first half of the live show. Speedy and sharp performance, John’s vocals are amazing, comparable to Phil Lynott. This is the first performance of this song in Japan in about 10 years, and the fans are enjoying it with great joy. From the middle of the live onwards, famous songs and great songs from the 1st and 2nd albums will be played alternately, greatly satisfying the fans. In the aggressive “Billy”, Mendoza’s bass also stands out clearly, creating an exquisite combination with Sykes. The following songs, “She Knows” and “Save My Love,” are melodious and will give the listener a moving moment. At the beginning of Disc 2, “We All Fall Down” explodes with the sound of that siren! This is definitely the best place to listen as the audience cheers and heats up, making this place definitely the best place to listen to the song (of course, the audience sings along in chorus). After concluding the main part of the set with “Blue Murder,” which engulfed the entire venue in a melting pot of excitement, the encore part that left a strong impression on the fans began. The warm and wet melody of “Please Don’t Leave Me,” which is highly regarded as a masterpiece, is the true essence of Sykes. Furthermore, THIN LIZZY’s “Dancing In The Moonlight” conveys his endless feelings for Phil through his performance and MC. At the end, the WHITESNAKE number “Still Of The Night” is performed with a feeling of “If I don’t do this, it won’t end”, and the 110 minute live ends with great excitement! As all the fans know, an official recording was made during this Japan tour in December 1993, and a live album was released the following year as “SCREAMING BLUE MURDER”. There is also a soundboard sound source (recording the 3rd and 4th) that is thought to have been the original material, and the performance is well known. However, because these official and line sound sources exist, the sound sources of the Tokyo performance at the beginning of the tour from the audience seat side have hardly been made into items. In other words, the “truth” of live performances, including the atmosphere and mood of the venue, is still unknown. This work, which shakes up the situation and lets you relive the excitement of the venue, is truly a work that fans have been waiting for. Furthermore, the quality allows you to enjoy the best performance with exceptional clarity! Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind song that any Sykes fan can’t miss!
