Description

BS&T were the leading brass rock band that was all the rage from the late 60’s to the early 70’s. Introducing a super valuable original recording that records its heyday. This work includes “Stockton Performance May 27, 1971”. This is an audience recording that completely records the scene. When you play it back, you can hear some Japanese conversation (it’s so subtle that you can barely tell it’s Japanese at full volume, so you can’t really tell what’s going on), but this work was actually recorded by a Japanese person. It is an original recording only for this work by the record company staff at the time. That fact alone is too rare, but its quality is also amazing. Although it is not the type of sound board that can be mistaken for, it is a famous recording with a very thick and powerful core that reaches straight. The midrange is glossy yet fat, and the bass, which tends to be a weak point in audience recording, has plenty of response. In fact, wouldn’t the peak be distorted if it were a little louder? It’s so strong that you’d think so, and yet it has a wonderful luster that stops just before it exceeds its limit. There is no sense of sparseness that was common in guest records from the 1970s. This strength is probably due to the fact that it is a stakeholder seat. This is completely speculation, but I think he may have recorded it for use as a work document. It would be a lie if I said that the distance was zero, but the voices and cheers were extremely far away, and despite the large household of nine people including the four-piece ensemble, the ensemble jumped neatly into my hands. Another strength of the original master is its freshness. Smoothness without dubbing, freshness without distortion in all ranges. You can clearly feel it from the sound. What is depicted with such a fresh vintage sound is a treasure of brass rock. Speaking of BS&T at that time, it was three months after the legendary first visit to Japan, and just before the release of “BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS 4″. The members are the same as the blockbuster 2nd album “BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS”, and the set is also a big hit from the 2nd album. In addition to “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy,” “Smiling Phases,” and “And When I Die,” 7 of the album’s 10 songs will be performed. And the classics sprinkled in between are also delicious. “Somethin’ Comin’ On” from her debut album, and “Lucretia MaccEvil/Lucretia’s Reprise” from her third album. “Go Down Gamblin’” and “Cowboys And Indians”, which will become hit singles two months later, will be played from the 4th album just before its release. Even compared to the official masterpiece “IN CONCERT”, there are only four duplicates, and this work is richer in early masterpieces. That is exactly why it is a live album that can be enjoyed as a live performance version of “GREATEST HITS”. This is a masterpiece that you can enjoy with the finest vintage sound that exudes the elegance of the ensemble as it was on the legendary first visit to Japan. After this, BS&T lost David Clayton Thomas and rapidly declined. However, what is engraved in this work is the seasonal stage that was just before that. It was a time when the ensemble was fully enjoying the winds of success and had reached a stage of maturity. This is a real live album that stands at the scene and allows you to completely immerse yourself in the supreme brass rock. This is truly a piece of cultural heritage.
