Description

The most shocking work in Sabbath history has been upgraded! This is a document album that contains the legendary riot in a super real audience recording!! This recording was previously released as “RIOT ACT”, but this time the master is real stereo. It is a crazy one that is thrown into the middle of the space where the whole venue is destroyed with a tremendous fresh sound. The big incident occurred at the “Milwaukee performance on October 9, 1980” of the coupling tour “BLACK & BLUE TOUR 1980” with BLUE OYSTER CULT. A bottle thrown on the stage hit Geezer Butler’s head and injured him. Geezer, covered in blood, was unable to play and the show ended as it was. 10,000 spectators who were angry about this destroyed the venue. The police were mobilized, but the commotion still did not subside, and it developed into a major riot that caused destruction and looting in the city. It became a major incident that was also reported in the NY Times magazine. This work was recorded at that very scene. The recording begins with the opening song of the show, “Spertzar.” At this time, there is nothing wrong, and you can enjoy “War Pigs” and “Neon Knights” as a live album with a great sound. Now, the third song, “N.I.B.”, begins… but the bass solo in the intro does not sound. Ronnie James Dio, who saw the bloody Geezer, explains the situation to the audience. Although you can tell that he is trying to stay calm, he cannot suppress his agitation, and he says a strong word, “Tough shit!!”, which is rare for Ronnie, and gets off the stage. After that, the tour manager comes out and declares, “The show is over!”, but 10,000 people boo at once. For a while, they wait for the band with a “We want Sabbath!!” call, but it is fleeting. Someone throws a chair, and the riot finally begins. This scene is so powerful that it freezes you to pieces. The previously released gift “RIOT ACT” was also a hot topic for its high quality and realistic sound, but the stereo master this time gives you a great feeling of being surrounded by a riot. Chairs fly one after another, and the shouts, screams, and cheers of the raging customers come three-dimensionally. Just when you think you heard a scream in the distance, the sound of a chair being smashed roars behind you. In the previous release, these sounds were all mixed together, but this time it’s right in the middle of it. Last time, it was just “this is amazing…”, but this time it’s scary. When the riot develops outside the venue, the sirens of the police car also go round and round in your head. You can clearly see with the clear sound that you are sprinting away while looking at the police car running at high speed in front of you. The realism of a woman crying out for help… After the documentary that freezes the terrible riot, we also recorded one bonus live performance that will thaw the frozen heart. This is an audience recording of the “Rochester performance on October 16, 1980” exactly one week after the riot, but this is also a valuable sound source that is not inferior to Milwaukee. The preciousness is the sound. It is a recording that has produced various masterpieces such as “HEAVENLY HELL”, “WAR MEMORIAL 1980”, “NEW YORK 1980” as a long-standing standard, but it is full of super-clearness and directness, and it was once distributed as a sound board for related parties. The high-quality recording of “HEAVEN AND HELL TOUR 1980” is concentrated in Japan, but when it comes to the sound of overseas performances, the only other one is “Miami performance on September 7”. Moreover, this master is fresher than any of the previous ones, and the natural sound is wonderful. There is a chip in part of the guitar solo and the beginning of “Paranoid”, and the defect that “Sweet Leaf” is not recorded remains the same as the previous release (if a slightly longer master comes out, press it immediately! …), but it is the best master of the traditional recording that represents “HEAVEN AND HELL TOUR 1980”. The Rochester performance spelled out with such a super sound. It is a wonderful show that does not feel the slightest bit of the riot that occurred a week ago, with a passionate performance that lets you hear the true essence of “Ronnie SABBATH” in great shape. This great fulfillment is especially sore after Milwaukee, which ended with only two songs. Just the intro of “N.I.B.”, which triggered the riot, is relieved …. The Milwaukee recording, which stands in the middle of the biggest riot in Sabbath history, and the Rochester recording, where you can enjoy a great live performance with hyper sound. Both are famous recordings that shine in the history of BLACK SABBATH recordings. 35 years ago, BLACK SABBATH experienced “heaven and hell” in just one week, and this is the ultimate documentary set.
