Description
This work includes the “October 19, 1989: Osaka Festival Hall” performance. This is an exquisite audience recording. In the main commentary, we have organized it specifically for the global sound board situation, so let’s narrow it down to the Japan schedule at that time and check the show’s position.・October 14th: Club Citta Kawasaki “DEFINITIVE KAWASAKI 1989” ・October 16th: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall “POWER OF DARKNESS” ・October 17th: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall “HEADLESS NIGHT” ・October 19th: Osaka Festival Hall ←★Coco★・October 21st: Aichi Labor Hall “NAGOYA 1989” *Representative albums only on each day. That’s all 5 performances. Returning for the first time in 9 years with the great album “HEADLESS CROSS” since “HEAVEN AND HELL”. In addition, since it was a monumental visit to Japan that included the heroes Koji and Neil Murray, our store has an archive of many masterpieces. We have a collection that allows you to experience all performances. This work is a full live album that is also the Osaka edition. This work is extremely valuable. This is an original master given to us by a recording artist, and will be released for the first time in Japan. Of course, not only is it rare, but the sound is also exquisite. As expected, it cannot be compared to a CD with an FM sound board, but the direct feeling with almost no hall sound is amazing. The powerful core does not give you the slightest sense of distance, and the vivid details are exceptional. In any case, the outline of the Koji, which has been described as “like slamming a drum can”, is very clear, and even if you hit it randomly, each stroke is extremely sharp. Even with Iommi’s guitar, you can feel every single note, from the nuance of the picking to the range of vibration. The bass, which tends to be spoiled in guest records, is also firmly captured, and you can clearly enjoy Neil Murray’s singing lines. A sense of echo is important for Sabbath during the Cozy era, and audience recording is very useful for that purpose. This work is also an ideal masterpiece with the balance between such a strong direct feeling and echo feeling. What is depicted with such a sound is a full show from the Cozy era, which was extremely dignified and magnificent.・Ozzy era (5 songs): War Pigs (★) / Black Sabbath / Iron Man / Children Of The Grave / Paranoid ・Ronnie era (5 songs): Neon Knights / Children Of The Sea (★) / Die Young (★) /The Mob Rules/Heaven And Hell Martin era (3 songs): Headless Cross/When Death Calls (★)/The Shining (★) *Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard on the CD “OSAKA 1989 SOUNDBOARD”. …and it looks like this. Since it is not a live performance, it is not counted, but it is completely recorded from the opening BGM “Ave Satani / The Gates Of Hell” to the encore last “Paranoid / Heaven And Hell (reprise)”. The 5 songs that cannot be heard on the main press CD are also delicious, but even if you look at them in total, they are “THE BEST OF SABBATH”. Aside from the reunion era with Ozzy, where the circumstances were too different, Sabbath’s set is basically “standard + new songs that will be played on any tour”. The “standards” are completely covered. It is a song that has been sung by most successive singers during the Ozzy era/Ronnie era, and the three songs from the Martin era have almost always been played on subsequent tours. It seems that the rarity is low because there are no “one tour only songs”, and “HEADLESS CROSS TOUR” is the only set so far in the entire history of Sabbath. In the opposite sense, it is a super concentrated best show that is unusually rare. His first visit to Japan with Ronnie James Dio is a legend, but his second visit to Japan with Cozy nine years later is nothing but a legend. Even though all the members were different except for Iommi and Jeff Nichols, their romanticism and dramaticism had further evolved. I don’t want to say too much, but the beauty of its wonderful style has reached a level that could surpass even RAINBOW. You can fully experience the scene of such a Japanese performance with unprecedented sound. Live at Festival Hall, Osaka, Japan 19th October 1989 Disc 1 (48:43) 1. Ave Satani 2. The Gates Of Hell 3.
