Description
The longest and strongest soundboard live performance from the Ian Gillan era has been brushed up. It will be permanently preserved with the highest quality in history! The masterpiece is engraved with the “November 4, 1983 Worcester performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of live soundboards from the “BORN AGAIN” era, the Reading Festival, which was made official in the Deluxe Edition, and our masterpiece “EUROLINES” are also familiar. The Gillan era is special among special, so let’s organize the soundboard situation here. ・August 27: Reading Festival performance (8 songs: official) ・September 26: Böblingen performance (3 songs: EUROLINES) ・September 30: Paris performance (10 songs: EUROLINES) ・November 4: Worcester performance (10 songs: ★ This work ★) *Note: The number of songs does not include SE tapes and each person’s solo. There are a total of four types. There are other mime videos, but this is all the soundboard recordings discovered so far. The best of these is the Worcester performance SBD. The number of songs seems to be on par with the Paris performance, but the recording time of the Worcester performance is more than 23 minutes longer. Moreover, the sound is different. After all, it was broadcast on the RKO Radio Network’s famous program “CAPTURED LIVE”, and the recording and mix are completely official. Even compared to the Reading Festival SBD that was actually made official, it is overwhelming in both length and sound. It is a classic among classics that has produced countless existing groups since that time because of its legendary sound board, but this work is the best of them. It is a refining of the pre-FM master known as the best. In fact, there are different types of “pre-FM”. For example, in recent years, the broadcast master LP has been newly released and became a hot topic, but the content is extremely poor. Was the transfer immature, or was the quality of the record poor to begin with, or both? Whatever the cause, the noise and distortion were intense, and it was in a state of being tattered by the sound pressure that was raised too much, whether it was an attempt to deceive. Of course, this work has nothing to do with such a bad master. It has been the best stamp of approval since the past. Our shop has re-polished the best masters familiar as “CAPTURED ALIVE” and “THE LEGENDARY MASTERS 1983 (part)” with meticulous mastering. And the one who was responsible for the brush-up work was “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. It has a reputation for mastering vintage recordings for a long time, and recently PINK FLOYD and Ozzy’s works have also been very well received. BLACK SABBATH’s “THE MANOR TAPE 1983: 2021 TRANSFER”, which was released the other day, is also a fresh memory. In fact, this work and “THE MANOR TAPE 1983” were mastered at the same time. There was initially a proposal to make it a two-disc set. However, there is a reason why this did not happen. It was because “the sound of this work was too good.” If you have read this article, you may have experienced “THE MANOR TAPE 1983”, but that new masterpiece has a supernatural sound that is drastically different from the past. Because it is an unfinished demo cassette, even the sound of the instruments in the studio is recorded, and the accuracy of the transfer has greatly upgraded it. However, this work is an FM sound board for radio broadcasting. It was carefully mixed from the original by the radio station RKO Radio Network and made into a sound suitable for home audio. Therefore, remastering this sound source is like polishing an official work, and even if the accuracy is improved, the upgrade range cannot be as large as “THE MANOR TAPE 1983”. As a result, “supernatural demo” and “completely official-style live” are incompatible, and it was not suitable for a two-disc set (in that respect, the previous edition “THE LEGENDARY MASTERS 1983” was perfect for a two-disc set because the demo also aimed for an official sound). I’ve written a lot of things, but this work is definitely “above the top” and “the best sounding live performance from the Guillain era” due to the “GRAF ZEPPELIN” mastering. Noise processing that changes for each band, pitch correction that does not miss even the slightest disturbance, thorough phase adjustment down to 1/1000 seconds, etc. The precision honed with the spirit of “a little dust accumulates and becomes a mountain” is unprecedented, with repeated fine work that is so indistinguishable from one another. Such a precise sound depicts a live performance that symbolizes the Guillain era. Since this is a good opportunity, let’s organize the positions of each sound board together here. 1983 {August 7th “BORN AGAIN” released} August 18th-28th: Europe #1 (7 performances) ←※ Official Reading September 13th-October 3rd: Europe #2 (15 performances) ←※ EUROLINES October 17th-November 30th: North America #1 (32 performances) ←★ Here ★ 1984 January 25th-March 4th: North America #2 (25 performances) {April 27th: DEEP PURPLE reunited} This is the whole picture of the gravitational singularity of Sabbath’s history, the “BORN AGAIN Tour”. The Worcester performance of this work was the 13th concert of “North America #1”. And this “North America #1” was a fulfilling period even in the Gillan era. Of course, the tone is different for each performance, so it cannot be said in general, but generally speaking, “North America #1” has become familiar with Sabbath’s shows as Gillan has gained experience. Unlike the beginning of the tour, they are not struggling to remember the lyrics, and there are no more songs from the Ronnie era where the vocal range does not match, like the final “North America #2”. It is the live performance of the most delicious period. And the biggest point of this work is the precious “BORN AGAIN” number and the classics dyed in Gillan color. Finally, let’s organize it while comparing it with the official Reading SBD. Ozzy era (5 songs) Black Sabbath: Paranoid: War Pigs / Iron Man / Paranoid Master of Reality: Children Of The Grave (★) Devil’s Child (3 songs) Hot Line / Zero The Hero / Digital Bitch Others (2 songs) Heaven & Hell: Heaven And Hell (★) Deep Purple: Smoke On The Water *Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the official deluxe edition Reading Festival SBD. BLACK SABBATH from the Gillan era, which has gained cult popularity as time goes by. Its real strength was in the live performance. This work is an eternal soundboard album that allows you to enjoy the live performance that dyed even the classics of the past with the color of “BORN AGAIN” with a quality that exceeds the official. The highest peak master has been polished with obsessive mastering, the pinnacle of the pinnacle. Official stereo soundboard recording of the “November 4, 1983 Worcester performance”. You can also enjoy the Gillan version of “Children Of The Grave” and “Heaven And Hell”, which could not be heard even in the official Reading Festival SBD, with a peak sound that exceeds the official one.
