Description

For us, along with our legendary first visit to Japan, our second visit to Japan in 1989 is an unforgettable one. The legendary club recording born from that scene has been upgraded. This work was recorded at the “October 14, 1989: Club Citta Kawasaki” performance. This is an exquisite audience recording. I’m sure some of you are already here, but on this day, the masterpiece “SABBAT” has been loved for many years as a representative work that came to Japan in 1989. This work is the highest peak edition that has brushed up that historical masterpiece recording. In addition, in 1989, with the heroes Cozy Powell and Neil Murray, it was also the first performance in Japan in nine years. At our store, we have archived the monument tour with many famous recordings. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time.・October 14th: Club Citta Kawasaki ←★Coco★ ・October 16th: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall “POWER OF DARKNESS” ・October 17th: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall “HEADLESS NIGHT” ・October 19th: Osaka Festival Hall “OSAKA 1989 SOUNDBOARD” ・October 21st: Aichi Labor Hall “NAGOYA 1989” *Representative albums only on each day. That’s all 5 performances. Following Ronnie James Dio’s first visit to Japan, the performance in Japan with Cozy participation was a success with RAINBOW fans involved, but the Kawasaki performance of this work was the first day. It was also the only standing club performance at the time. This work, which vacuum-packs the scene, has ultra-realistic sound that gives you the best sense of realism, as well as the superb performance. It was the first time for Sabbath in nine years, but it was also the first time in five years for Cozy and Neil since “Super Rock ’84”. What’s more, “HEADLESS CROSS” is neither blues rock like Shiroja nor progressive rock like EL&P, but a great masterpiece that takes the stylistic beauty inherited from RAINBOW, where Cozy shines the most, to the utmost. You can feel the enthusiasm of Japan, which was probably the most joyful place in the world, in a very real way. It ended up sounding like a recording full of screaming, but that’s not at all the case. The essence of this work is the powerful and on-tone performance sound. Its powerful core is thrust right in front of you without any sense of distance, and thanks to the clear, transparent atmosphere, every detail is detailed. The feeling of being in a closed room unique to a club is tremendous, and it sounds like “those four people” are within reach. Moreover, this work updates the highest peak of such famous recordings. It has been digitized again from the original master and has been further refined with meticulous mastering. Of course, it is a masterpiece that can be pressed even with the original sound, and this work retains its taste. On top of that, I checked and corrected the detailed parts throughout the entire story. For example, left and right stereo balance. The balance of the original sound was slightly to the right, probably due to the recording position, but in this work, it was corrected so that the ensemble could be enjoyed evenly. Even when it comes to pitch, we carefully check each band, reinforcing the low range while creating a balance with the powerful high range, and reducing minute noise at the end. Also, speaking of this recording, the tape change part of “When Death Calls” and “Heaven And Hell” is also a highlight. In this work, like “SABBAT”, it is supplemented with a separate recording, but the finish of this work is better. In “SABBAT,” they were connected in chunks, but in this work, the transitions are smooth with crossfades, allowing you to seamlessly enjoy the full show. We have respected the significance of historical club recordings to the utmost, and have refined them while keeping them easy to listen to and realistic. The full show drawn with such an upgraded sound is heart-warming. First, let’s take a look at the set, which is said to be the best of all time. Ozzy era (5 songs)・BLACK SABBATH: Black Sabbath・PARANOID: War Pigs/Iron Man/Paranoid・MASTER OF REALITY: Children Of The Grave Ronnie era (5 songs)・HEAVEN AND HELL: Neon Knights/Children Of The Sea/ Die Young/Heaven And Hell・MOB RULES: The Mob Rules Martin era (3 songs)・THE ETERNAL IDOL: The Shining・HEADLESS CROSS: Headless Cross/When Death Calls…and it goes like this. The set that concentrates the three of Ozzy era / Ronnie era / Martin era in a well-balanced manner is truly “THE BEST OF SABBATH”. The classics are a selection of 10 killer songs that have been sung by successive singers, but the Martin era is also the best. The later numbers “TYR,” “CROSS PURPOSES,” and “FORBIDDEN” were basically only performed on their respective tours, but the three songs you can hear in this work are Martin Sabbath’s representative songs that were played on each tour. song. There has never been a tour with such a concentrated feeling before or since, which is why it is also called “HEADLESS CROSS TOUR is the ultimate tour” by enthusiasts. And this work is amazing because you can experience such a super concentrated vest at the club. Based on the aforementioned powerful sound, the enthusiasm and on-site feel are super realistic. As soon as the venue BGM QUEENSRYCHE stopped sounding, the audience, sensing that the show was about to begin, began to roar, and the evil “Ave Satani” sounded out, as if to overwhelm the calls of “Sabbath! Sabbath! Sabbath!” The audience pushed back against the disturbing mood with calls of “Sabbath!” and “Cozy!”, and the show opened with “The Gates Of Hell/Headless Cross”, just as it was on the album. It’s already hot at this point. After that, as soon as the performance begins, the aforementioned extremely thick sound overwhelms the scene and the audience quiets down, but applause still rises at key points and cheers fly. That is the reality where you can see Cozy in that pose. The ultimate best set in the history of Sabbath, a lineup that was called “the strongest in British rock”, an ensemble that maximized Sabbath’s unique dramaticism…Club Citta Kawasaki in 1989 was all set in a small club space. It was a miraculous show that was put together. The highest peak of legendary recording that allows you to witness the best sound in that space.
