Description

A reprint of the superb stereo soundboard album that symbolizes the Cozy Powell era. What is recorded in this work is “July 7, 1995 Tinley Park performance”. It is the ultimate sound board recording that has been brushed up on the famous album “BLOODY WIZARD”. This week, the super famous soundboard “DEFINITIVE VIENNA 1989” from the Cozy era will also be released. This is a good opportunity, so let’s organize our collection of soundboards/pro shots from the Cozy era. “HEADLESS CROSS TOUR 1989”・September 6: Manchester “MANCHESTER 1989: PRE-FM MASTER”・September 24: Vienna “DEFINITIVE VIENNA 1989”・October 19: Osaka “STILL HEADLESS”・November 25 :Russia “HEADLESS IN RUSSIA (2 performances)” “TYR TOUR 1990”・Nothing “FORBIDDEN TOUR 1995 (until August)”・June 16th: Karlshamn “STILL HEADLESS”・July 7th: Tinley Park ★Book Written by★《August 3rd: Koji Leaves》 Above are 7 performances from 3 tours. Only “HEADLESS IN RUSSIA” is a multi-camera professional shot, but all others are soundboard albums. At our store, we have introduced all of them through press titles. The Chicago performance of this work is the latest among them. It is truly “Cozy SABBATH’s last sound board”. Even more than its historical value, it is of extremely high quality. There are various types of sound boards, but this work is a so-called sound board leaked. Unlike broadcasts and official recordings, it is recorded directly from the soundboard table, and if the mix is vivid and well-balanced, the cheers will be recorded far and low. Therefore, it cannot be expected to have the same feel as an official live album, but as a record of live performance, it surpasses the official one. It is full of the rawness of a one-shot recording that does not allow any replacement, and the direct sound is as if a plug was thrust directly into your head. Although the cheering can hardly be heard, there is no sense of being at the concert venue, but the band’s sense of synchronization is second to none. These characteristics are common to direct-to-table systems, but this sound board is by far the finest among them. Such a superb sound board was also experienced in the previously released “BLOODY WIZARD”, but this work is the ultimate edition that further refines it. First of all, the biggest point is the full show recording! Actually, the biggest drawback of “BLOODY WIZARD” was that there were three missing recordings. The first place is at the beginning. From the opening scene of “Ave Satani” to the opening 20 seconds of the first song “Children of the Grave”. The second part is in the middle, and the climax part of “When Death Calls” is about 1 minute long. And finally, at the end, there was no entire “Paranoid” from the ending 10 seconds of “Iron Man”. This sound board was probably recorded by the on-site staff on a whim, and the cut part does not have a recording itself in the first place. This work supplements those lost parts with audience recording. Originally, it would be desirable to complement it at the same show, but unfortunately the guest record of this show is of a quality that is not similar to the main sound board. Therefore, this work adopted the best audience recording of “July 10, 1995 New York performance” three days later. This complementary master is said to be one of the best audiences in the entire history of Sabbath, and is the so-called “sound board” type. The full-length version is also loved as the masterpiece “DIE AND FLY (Power Gate-262)”, but this work has a newly obtained upgraded master. Furthermore, it is connected seamlessly as close to the main sound board as possible. We have achieved a finish that does not feel out of place because it is one of the best recordings in the entire history of Sabbath. Those who have listened to this work may not be able to believe that it is a separate performance because of the synchronization (this is also proof that they have been performing stable shows every night). And the essential sound board has also been brushed up. Of course, we do not try to gain unnecessary sound pressure. The original master was also the best, but its balance is only for on-site PA, and consumer audio is not taken into consideration. As a result, the peaks of each range stick out, making it somewhat difficult to listen to with headphones (although I’m talking about an unusually high level). This work organizes such original sounds into each range. While maintaining the rawness and authentic sound of direct connection to a desk, we have achieved a well-balanced sound that is easier to listen to even with consumer audio. There is a lot to listen to, such as Sabbath’s famous songs, “The Wizard” and “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” that cannot be heard on “HEADLESS CROSS TOUR” or “TYR TOUR”, “FORBIDDEN” number whose existence itself is precious, etc. But more than that, the quality is amazing. Too amazing. It goes beyond the framework of one band and is a sample of a sound board that is directly connected to a desk, with the ultimate sound at full blast. With that close contact, he can synchronize with Tony Iommi, Tony Martin, Cozy Powell, and Neil Murray. There’s no way this could be a bad thing. It can’t be amazing! Aside from the studio album “FORBIDDEN”, Cozy SABBATH’s super masterpiece soundboard was as amazing as ever on stage.
