Description

In response to the particularly enthusiastic love calls from fans from the BLACK SABBATH live performances when Cozy Powell was enrolled, the decision has been made to re-release that strongest live recording! This work, which was recorded in full with a high-quality audience recording of the Wolverhampton performance in the UK on September 1, 1990, the first day of the “TYR” tour, which lasted only about three months, is still strongly supported as the greatest masterpiece of the 1990 tour, not only for its excellent sound quality, but also for its rarity and documentary value as the first collector’s item to record the first day’s live performance, which featured a particularly rare set even in the “TYR” tour, which had a large change in set list. The environment surrounding BLACK SABBATH’s rare recordings has been greatly improved in recent years. The re-appearance of this work, which marked the beginning of the show, is a great blessing not only for fans who missed the previous release, but also for those who have recently awakened to the charm of Martin SABBATH! From the beginning of the show, you can enjoy a number of carefully selected gems with excellent sound quality and clarity. From the third song “Headless Cross”, the sound quality improves further, and with a sharp edge and a sound rich in outstanding directness, we will push forward to the end of the show! The set list unique to the first day, which is a highlight of the whole show, condenses the essence of Martin SABBATH and allows you to fully enjoy his singing voice. In addition to classic songs such as “Headless Cross” and “The Shining”, the new song “Anno Mundi” that was placed at the opening only in the very early days, and the numbers selected from “TYR” such as “Law Maker” are also full of listening pleasure. In particular, the flow from “The Battle Of Tyr” played in the middle to “The Sabbath Stones”, and “Feels Good To Me” located in the latter half of the live are only listenable on this first day performance. The competition between Iommi’s heavy riffs and Martin’s supple singing is sometimes beautiful and sometimes intense, and it is impossible not to overwhelm all listeners. The majestic scale and beauty of construction of “When Death Calls” that can be heard on this sound source is one of the pinnacles that SABBATH reached in the Martin era and the stylized beauty line. Another feature of the “TYR” tour is the coexistence of the band’s unity and each member’s assertion. In “Heart Like A Wheel” that flows from the bass solo, you can enjoy Neil Murray’s artisanal bass line, and in the following guitar solo, Iommi creates the highest excitement by playing a passage of “Electric Funeral” and “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”. In addition, Cozy features “Mars” for the first time in SABBATH, and no matter which scene of the live show you take, there are a series of superb scenes that hard rock fans can’t get enough of. SABBATH at this time is truly a super band! The classic songs from the Ronnie era, such as “Sign Of The Southern Cross”, which was revived in combination with “Odin’s Court”, and “Die Young”, which is the highlight of the show, are given new life by Martin’s singing and shine even more. In addition to “War Pigs”, the SABBATH classics from the Ozzy era, “Iron Man”, “Children Of The Grave”, and “Black Sabbath”, which are played in the second half of the show, are all reproduced with skillful selection and arrangement. The spectacular live document will convince you that this show is the best of the best of the Martin era. This work, which recorded a 2 hour and 10 minute concert with outstanding stable high sound quality, is a work that can be said to be in a class of its own among the many SABBATH live shows! If you are a SABBATH fan, it would be unforgivable not to have this sound source. Live at Civic Hall, Wolverhampton, UK 1st September 1990 TRULY AMAZING SOUND Disc 1 1.
