Description

The debut album of BLACK SABBATH, the father of all heavy music. A masterpiece that accurately reproduces the “origin” of a legendary album. In addition, precious treasure bonuses are also included. [Main: A detailed reproduction of the legendary origin sound] The true identity of this work is a reproduction of the first edition of “BLACK SABBATH” (VO 6, 847 903 VTY) released by the Vertigo label in the UK, with the highest quality. In other words, it is the actual thing that was lined up in record stores in the UK on “Friday, February 13, 1970”, when the fate of rock changed. That sound has been revived beyond 48 years of time and space. Moreover, this work is not just an analog transcription. In our shop, we have delivered great masterpieces that overseas audiophiles have digitized in search of the ultimate sound. PINK FLOYD, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW… Many of them (though not all) were at the peak of their first analog editions in the UK. This work also follows that trend. An unused mint disc was used, and it was digitized in the latest high-end environment specialized for analog transcription. There is not a single needle crack, not even a hint of uneven playback, and it is the highest sound found by pursuing the original sound that the master tape absorbed. The “original sound” that has been revived in modern times is overwhelming. BLACK SABBATH’s current remasters are largely divided into American (RHINO) and domestic (SANCTUARY) versions, and the RHINO version is the one that is most widely distributed worldwide. First of all, this difference is… completely different. It’s not simply a matter of whether “Evil Woman” or “Wicked World” is included, but a completely different album. The sound of the current RHINO version is just flashy, and the stereo feeling is amazing if the sound pressure peak is at the very limit. It spreads all the way to the rear as if you were twisting your body left and right during radio calisthenics, and everything is a flashy, super vivid sound. In contrast, the SANCTUARY version in the home country is purely natural. The stereo effect is kept at about 45 degrees left and right, yet each sound has a three-dimensional feel and is elegant. It’s a sound that sounds like it’s different from the mix. And of course, this work is close to the SANCTUARY version, and even more so. The SANCTUARY remaster is natural, but it has been finished with a recent sense, emphasizing the deep bass. The consciousness of “SABBATH = heavy” has led to a cunning production. In contrast, this work is definitely a 70’s sense. Of course, the rich deep bass is also absorbed, but the sound is well-balanced with the guitar, vocals, and drums, and it beautifully depicts the original sound of the band. And the bass is extremely delicate. The vibe that disappeared at the peak in the emphasized current remaster remains beautifully. You can clearly feel the skin of the bass drum and the vibration of the bass strings, and the final vibe of the note that disappears into the pitch black darkness is beautifully engraved. This ultra-natural sound brings out the essence of the album “BLACK SABBATH”. From his debut album to “MASTER OF REALITY”, the trilogy of Roger Bain works is treated, but the first album in particular also has the aspect of a “studio live album”. The sound of this work has a strong “live feeling” and “real feeling”. Of course, there is the elegance of a work that has been mixed and finished, but the live performance hidden there is extremely real. It has a presence as if Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi are right there, and a sense of reality as if they were present in the studio. [Bonus: Shocking Alternate Mix Single] In addition to the main part, a special bonus track for permanent preservation is also included. It is the first UK edition of the single “Evil Woman” (Fontana, TF 1067). This was also digitized by the same audiophile as the main part in the same environment and process. You might think that the mono mix of “Wicked World” that is not in the main part is delicious, but in fact it is “Evil Woman” that is the real treasure. This is a single mix that is different from both the current remaster and the first LP of the main part. This one also has a different mono feel at first listen, but even more than that, there is the saxophone over the guitar. This is featured more heavily, and you can hear phrases that are not in the album version. Furthermore, the drums and vocals are given a deeper echo, giving the finished product an even stronger pop mood. In fact, this difference in mix has been a topic of debate for a long time. Old collectors have declared it to be a “different mix,” but the official CDs that have been released one after another are all album takes. The official single box “THE SINGLES” is the same as the album, and even more troublingly, most of the analog singles are the same as the album… At some point, the “different mix” became an urban legend and was forgotten. However, what flows out of this work is that phantom mix. The illusion engraved on the first British single has been revived as a real sound, and with the highest sound quality. This is the origin. This work is the real thing. A sound that is not poisoned by the “illusion of the original” that was later enlarged. This is the very “sound” that shook the air of REGENT SOUND STUDIOS on October 16, 1969, and was absorbed into the master tape. 48 years have passed, and the true sound has probably been lost even to the master tape itself. The first British LP that kept it, and the different mix “Evil Woman” that had become an urban legend, were also shocking first singles. This is a miracle that the passion of audiophiles who transferred both of them to digital with precision and accuracy was able to achieve.
