Description

Geezer Butler’s weight and Tony Martin’s lyricism. Introducing a superb stereo soundboard album from the “CROSS PURPOSES” era, featuring heavyweights who symbolize both sides of SABBATH. What is engraved in this work is “February 8, 1994 New Britain performance”. This is a leaked soundboard recording of those involved. This date may be nostalgic for avid enthusiasts. Yes, that superb stereo sound board that has been loved by the masterpiece “FIRST PURPOSES”. This work is an upgrade version of that. [The highest peak version of the sound board leaked by the people involved] I suddenly said that it was nostalgic and that it was an upgrade, but for those who don’t know about the previous release, it may be a bit boring. Let’s start with the basics. This sound board was truly a shocking work. It was recorded on the first day of “CROSS PURPOSES TOUR 1994” and was leaked by the people involved. There is also a genuine official work “CROSS PURPOSES LIVE” on this tour, but it boasts an ultra-superior sound quality that is comparable to that, and the ultra-direct feeling unique to the outflow is also overwhelming. Furthermore, it was a great album that you can enjoy including “Children Of The Sea” and “Immaculate Deception” which cannot be heard in the official work. This work is an upgrade version of such a legendary sound board. Of course, this work is neither a copy nor a remastered reissue of “FIRST PURPOSES”. Going back to the source leaked master that was the source of the previous release, it also supplemented the missing encore part. This is a great decision board that has been sublimated to a full show finish. The difference is obvious from the moment you play it. In “FIRST PURPOSES”, the opening “Supertzar” started with a fade-in, but in this work, it is clearly engraved up to the first note. As a matter of fact, the sound source that is said to be the original sound board had also appeared on the internet, but even if it was the master, the beginning of “Supertzar” was missing. This work is the original proof. Of course, that is just proof of the original master. The biggest point of this work is the sound that permeates throughout. The freshness and natural sound are overwhelming. “FIRST PURPOSES” was equalized quite flashily, probably due to the trend at the time, but this work is directly connected to the sound board table. Every inch of the ensemble is thoroughly natural and fresh. Each beat of the drums stirs your brain with a strong stereo effect, Iommi’s riffs are as sharp as ever, and Geezer’s lines are super clear and crisp. You could taste that transcendental vividness in “FIRST PURPOSES,” but this work is at a level where you can feel that “Sabbath is there.” It is a super sound board with 100% synchronization that perfectly matches the four people. This natural sound is common to the aforementioned Net Master, but this work is even more vivid and has less deterioration. Each note comes out clearly and jumps into your hands vividly. In particular, “Black Sabbath” and “Neon Knights” are much more beautiful in this work, and the pitches that were randomly distorted within a range of about 1/4 tone are also accurate. [Taste the culmination live in full scale] It is a sound board recording that you want to add two or three super, but unfortunately it is a recording of only the main set, and it ends before the encore. Therefore, this work includes a bonus encore part of the official work “CROSS PURPOSES LIVE”, making it a full live album. Of course, even though it is a bonus track, it is not just added, but the sound is as close to the main leaked sound board as possible and connected seamlessly. The finish is so natural that if you were to be honest and say, “The complete version is out!” without crediting it, you’d pass for it. At the New Britain performance site, the encore was only one song, “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,” but this work also includes “Iron Man.” The show drawn with such ultimate quality is truly delicious. Above all, “Children Of The Sea” and “Immaculate Deception” cannot be heard on “CROSS PURPOSES LIVE”. Especially the latter is too delicious. There is a famous song from this period called “I Witness” which develops from fast to heavy, but “Immaculate Deception” has the opposite pattern. A masterpiece that embodies both SABBATH’s songs with a heavy → melodic dash. “CROSS PURPOSES TOUR 1994” has several soundboards in addition to official works, but the line recording of “Immaculate Deception” is only on this day. Of course, it has not been played at all on subsequent tours, and this work is the one and only best sound board. And the “heavy + lyrical” collaboration that this song symbolizes is the charm of the “CROSS PURPOSES” era. With the return of originator Geezer, the extremely heavy groove has been revived, and with Martin singing, the lyricism is at full throttle. Moreover, the chemistry between these two is surprisingly good. Geezer isn’t just heavy; its lines are extremely melodic and rich. Centered around Iommi’s riff, the two intertwined melodies, creating a profound mood. Because it is such an ensemble, it can handle all kinds of songs from the Ozzy era / Ronnie era / Martin era, and has a great sense of unity. The rushing “Time Machine”, the heavy “Into The Void”, the mysterious “The Wizard”, the full-length revival of “Symptom Of The Universe”, and the masterpiece “Cross Of Thorns” that condenses all the elements. ……. Solid, elegant and dramatic. Even in the long history of BLACK SABBATH, the only time they were able to unify all of their diverse elements was during the “CROSS PURPOSES” era. It is a live album in which all the charms of SABBATH are scattered like a showcase. A superb stereo sound board that stands alongside the official works “CROSS PURPOSES” & “CROSS PURPOSES LIVE”. This is one that updates its all-time high. The natural sound that only Omoto master can provide, the extremely valuable “Immaculate Deception”, and the full show including the encore is worth listening to. A masterpiece of a live album that has it all. The Sting, New Britain, CT, USA 8th February 1994 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (48:04) 1. Supertzar2. Time Machine 3. Children Of The Grave 4.
