Description

Ozzy SABBATH’s performance in Japan has only happened for one night in its 50-year history. The world’s first public master is newly discovered. [A miraculous Japanese performance that only happened for one night] Of course, what is engraved in this work is “May 12, 2013: OZZFEST JAPAN performance”. This is the best audience recording. There is no live show more worthy of being called a “miracle of the 21st century” than this show. Ozzy Osbourne & BLACK SABBATH were formed in 1968 along with LED ZEPPELIN and DEEP PURPLE, and although they were called one of the “three great hard rock bands”, they had never come to Japan. Of course, there have been many visits to Japan since the 1980s with Ozzy’s solo and SABBATH in the style after Ronnie James Dio, but the original Ozzy/Tony Iommi/Geezer Butler came to Japan together. There were no performances, and even after they reunited in the 90s and 2000s, this did not happen. That history ended in 2013. They came to Japan on a tour accompanying their comeback album “13” which was a big hit all over the world, and only one show was held as the headliner of “OZZFEST JAPAN 2013”. And this night was also the last. A farewell tour “THE END” was also held in 2016-2017, but the tour did not come to Japan at that time. With the end of that, the heavyweight BLACK SABBATH went into an eternal sleep. [The best audience recording released for the first time in the world] So, “Ozzy SABBATH’s Live in Japan” was only for one night before and after. A large number of records have been created since then. A number of masterpiece live albums have appeared, including the pinnacle work “JAPAN AT LAST” that we introduced at our store, as well as “COMPLETE IN EAR MONITOR RECORDING” and “DEFINITIVE ANOTHER MASTER.” However, this work is different from any of those recordings. It is a treasured audience master that has never been exposed before. Moreover, this is not just a thing. After all, this work was recorded by a legendary recording artist who left behind a large number of masterpieces recorded in Japan in the 70’s and 80’s. It is no exaggeration to say that most of the masterpieces in the history of Japanese Western music, such as the Stones, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, David Bowie, PINK FLOYD, etc., are the works of this person. In fact, although it has remained largely unknown since the turn of the 21st century, it has actually continued to be active. This work is a hidden treasure among hidden treasures from such a legendary collection! In fact, the sound of this work is super excellent. The miraculous album “JAPAN AT LAST” is of such high quality that it is difficult to easily rank it as superior or inferior, but its individuality is very different. In addition to being clear, “JAPAN AT LAST” was characterized by its extremely thick and powerful bass. In fact, this is a characteristic of the sound produced by the on-site PA. Not only “JAPAN AT LAST”, but most audience recordings picked up buzzing and heavy bass, and “JAPAN AT LAST” was the one that was the most rich and clear. On the other hand, in this work, you can hardly feel that “undulation”. It would be a problem if it were misunderstood here, but this work also picks up the heavy bass well, and it is not a sparse recording (never!). However, the deep bass also focuses on the attack sound at the beginning, which further enhances the overall clarity. Its individuality can be felt in all songs and all parts, but the one that is easy to understand is Geezer’s bass. If the other works of “JAPAN AT LAST” have a “buzzing” base, this work is “grilling and pounding”. Each grain stands out and makes the lines feel crisp. This clarity exceeds even the super masterpiece “JAPAN AT LAST”. Why was he able to achieve such a crystal clear recording in a scene where so much powerful bass was swirling around? He must have been a legendary master. The aesthetic that has been recording rock for many years has (in a sense) achieved a sound that surpasses the actual scene. Although it is difficult to say for sure as audience recording is largely influenced by taste, it is a new masterpiece that can be said to be the two great peaks that are on par with “JAPAN AT LAST”. A show drawn with such a sound…As for its contents, it would be a no-frills thing to talk about. While performing the new song “God Is Dead?”, the Greatest Hits is lined up with super famous songs from the debut to “VOL.4”. And above all, each note, each voice, is a one-of-a-kind “SABBATH in JAPAN”. It’s true that Bill Ward is no more, but he is now unable to perform live with his own band (he announced a tour with his band DAY OF ERRORS in 2017, but was hospitalized due to heart disease before it could materialize). Ta). Then, in 2017, BLACK SABBATH itself declared its end. In the end, the Japan performance with all four original members was not realized, but Ozzy/Iommi/Geezer did come. A new superb live album that will leave behind that “miraculous night” forever. Live at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan 12th May 2013 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (46:20) 1.
