“Abnormal.” A live album with a completely abnormal and transcendental sound has appeared… BLACK SABBATH’s disbandment tour “THE END” has finally begun. The other day, I introduced the live album “CHICAGO 2016”, the second performance of the tour, but this work is a super sound album that far surpasses that. This is an audience album containing the 4th performance of the tour “January 27, 2016 Winnipeg performance”. It’s such an unusual sound that you can only think, “There’s no way it won’t be the best on tour.” After all, it’s the best thing I’ve ever heard in the entire history of BLACK SABBATH. I don’t know how to explain this amazing taste… First of all, in the entire history of BLACK SABBATH to date, the “best sounding audience recording” was the Japanese performance “JAPAN AT LAST”. This work is even better than that masterpiece. Well, the only ones comparable to this sound are “DEFINITIVE MONTREUX 1970” and “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST”. Yes, even though this work is an audience recording, it has a sound that can compete with the best and strongest soundboard album in BLACK SABBATH history! The sound is not only common knowledge for audience recording, but also a world record that exceeds the current limits. Although we live in a modern era where ultra-high quality digital recording is in full bloom, there is still nothing comparable to this work. The biggest difference is the glittering edges. I always describe things like “the core of the musical tone is thick” and “rich reverberations,” but the guitar and bass in this work is far from that, and the riffs are carved out with a super aggressive sound with an unusually sharp edge. Moreover, it scratches violently with zero reverberation, making a throbbing sound in your stomach. I can’t believe it’s just a sound board directly connected to the desk, no, I still can’t believe it’s an audience recording. If the recording artist himself had not said, “I recorded it,” he would have called it a “spill-out sound board directly connected to the desk” without a moment’s hesitation. Originally, I would also talk about the content of the live show that will be held with the best sound, but let’s stop in front of the historical sound so far. There are plenty of things to listen to, such as the profound opening by “Black Sabbath”, the rare “Rat Salad”, the complete “Under The Sun / Every Day Comes And Goes”, which was the last performance (for now), etc. , Even if I write it in a vague way, it will only be a waste of time. This is an amazing feat in the history of music and recording. The subject matter just happened to be BLACK SABBATH. Exactly the ultimate quality that audience recording can achieve.
