Description
Shock! An incredible soundboard has been newly unearthed. This is the only soundboard from the “Bloody Sabbath” era, and the ultimate evolution of the live album of the century’s biggest event. This work is engraved with the “April 6, 1974 California Jam Performance”. It is a stereo soundboard recording from the legendary festival that symbolizes the 70s. This recording is the eye of a huge typhoon that is currently exciting collectors all over the world. Just the other day, soundboards of all bands other than the headliner EL&P were excavated at once, but the real impact was the sound. It was a transcendent quality that surpassed all previous Cali Jam recordings (easily!). Before the shocking content, let’s start with the position of the show. This work is also a super-decisive board that symbolizes the “Bloody Sabbath” era, so let’s look back on the activity overview here. 1973 January 7th-19th: Oceania #1 (6 performances) February 15th-March 18th: Europe #1 (24 performances) ← *LIVE AT LAST August 2nd: Appeared at London Music Festival {“Bloody Sabbath” produced in September -> released on December 1st} December 9th-19th: UK #1 (4 performances) 1974 January 1st-19th: Europe #2 (8 performances) January 31st-February 25th: North America (23 performances) April 6th: Appeared at CALIFORNIA JAM I ←★Here★ May 17th-June 9th: UK #2 (14 performances) November 5th-16th: Australia #2 (8 performances) This is BLACK SABBATH in 1973 and 1974. Since their debut, Sabbath has been customarily touring over the New Year holidays, with the above-mentioned “Europe #1” being the “VOL.4 Tour” and “UK #1” being the “SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH Tour”. Among them, the California Jam appearance is an exception. The “North America” and “UK #2” before and after were “tours” that repeatedly moved between stages every day, but the California Jam was a special performance that was realized only once in between. Such a show was also broadcasted only at a huge festival. It has been known as a major staple that produces numerous existing sounds as the only sound board in the “Bloody Sabbath” era. However, this was also a problem. Unlike the official works DEEP PURPLE and EL&P, the quality of the Sabbath edition is not so good… no, it’s not good. The phrase “better than a bad sound board” is often used to praise audience recordings, but this was a typical example of that “bad sound board”. Moreover, the previous and next “VOL.4 Tour” had “LIVE AT LAST”, and the “SABOTAGE Tour” had the super-exclusive “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST”, so it was a level of “Well, it’s better than no soundboard”. This new excavation master has turned such a long-standing “Cali Jam standard” upside down. The recording method is a little different, and the output sound of the amplifier is recorded on an open reel after passing through a microphone on the stage of the legendary festival. This is the 1st Gene copy of that reel tape. Therefore, strictly speaking, it is not a “line recording”, but there is no doubt that only the soundboard sound is recorded, and its quality far surpasses the broadcast. In fact, the highest peak so far was our “CALIFORNIA JAM 1974: THE COMPLETE MASTER (Zodiac 343)”, but this work feels like Gene has become much younger. No, “THE COMPLETE MASTER” also had a sound that exceeded the broadcast version, but this work has all the dubbing marks wiped away, and there is no pitch or sound fluctuation. The sound is sharp, super vivid and super beautiful. If the conventional one is “Well, it’s a sound board, isn’t it?”, this work is a glaring Bikabika that says “This is a sound board!” The full show depicted with that sound is… it’s best to actually listen to it. It is a set unique to the “Bloody Sabbath” era, which is an improved version of the “VOL.4 Tour” but completely different from the “SABOTAGE Tour”, and it is bursting with the tension of seeing a huge crowd of 250,000 people. The live performance is a once-in-a-lifetime thing that goes beyond the dimension of good or bad. It is a super upgrade album that sounds completely different from the conventional one. California Jam is a legend. There are probably many collectors who have searched for many already released in search of even the slightest good sound. The journey has finally come to this point. It has risen to a level where it can be spoken of in the same league as “LIVE AT LAST” and “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST”. Perhaps the journey of exploration ends with this work. This time it is the 1st generation, so there is one more step to the original reel, but it is unlikely that a reel tape that is not a regular work can withstand the test of nearly 50 years. In future generations, this work will be recorded as the “Bloody Sabbath Live Edition”. This work is one that stands on such a horizon. It is an exceptional live album in the entire history of British rock heavyweight BLACK SABBATH. Stereo soundboard recording of the super-huge event “California Jam Performance on April 6, 1974”. It was woken up from the 1st generation master of the open reel that recorded the soundboard sound on stage with a microphone, and the quality is the best ever. To be honest, in the past, it was like “It’s a soundboard, isn’t it?”, but this time it’s so amazing that you want to scream “This is a soundboard!” That’s why you can enjoy the only sound board from the “Bloody Sabbath” era with quality approaching “LIVE AT LAST” and “LIVE LONGEST… DIE AT LAST”. It’s truly a historic excavation album. BLACK SABBATH – CALIFORNIA JAM 1974: REEL TO REEL SOUNDBOARD(1CD) “California Jam I”, Ontario Motor Speedway, CA, USA 6th April 1974 STEREO SBD(NEW SOURCE!!!)
