Description
The last tour “THE END” has been turbulent, with Ozzy Osbourne suddenly developing sinusitis during the first four performances. Almost all the performances have arrived one after another, and the latest live set, which combines two carefully selected performances, is now available! This work is a 4-disc set, with discs 1 and 2 containing the 6th “February 9, 2016 San Jose performance” of the tour, and discs 3 and 4 containing the 9th “February 15, 2016 Denver performance”. ·album. Let’s check the position of each title here. ・January 27: Winnipeg performance 2CD “WINNIPEG 2016” ・January 30: Edmonton performance (postponed) ・February 1: Calgary performance (postponed) ・February 3: Vancouver performance (postponed) ・February 6 Sun: Tacoma performance DVD “TACOMA 2016” ・February 9: San Jose performance [This work] ・February 11: Inglewood performance ・February 13: Las Vegas performance ・February 15: Denver performance [This work] As you can see, there was a postponement due to Ozzy’s illness from the end of January to the beginning of February, but he returned approximately 10 days later. This work is a show after its return. As I wrote earlier, from this tour, except for the first day, sound sources and videos of almost all performances have appeared, and it has been a success with multiple recordings even in one performance. What’s more, surprisingly, the level of quality is unusually high! This is a 4-disc set that has been carefully selected from “THE END”, which has already spilled into countless records. In fact, the quality of this work is stunning, no, it is a sound board-class sound. The San Jose performance on Discs 1 and 2 has a thick musical tone with a lot of direct feeling, and every note of the riff is clear. It’s so beautiful that the sound of a glossy bass fills the contours. Still, the “on-site feeling” that is different from the sound board is also wonderful. Anyway, from the opening song “Black Sabbath” onwards, it’s absolutely epic. Ozzy sings mysteriously through the slow and slow intro riff, and each word is met with loud cheers! The “SAP Center” where the scene took place is a sports arena with a capacity of approximately 20,000 people, and the huge cheers filled the huge space. The more distant the frenzy, the smaller it is, and there is even a time difference. While giving you a rich sense of space and three-dimensionality that you can never experience with a soundboard, the musical sounds are direct with no sense of distance. The 2CD “WINNIPEG 2016” released at the same time was made into a CD because of the unusual sound that I had never heard, but this is an orthodox yet ideal “mirror of audience recording”. In order to make the most of its strengths, we have completed the mastering with a slight but enhanced sharpness while preserving the natural sound. Discs 3 and 4 are the 9th Denver performance of the tour. Let me just lay out some stupid nonsense here. Multiple recordings have appeared from this performance, and the “high-quality master with full recording” and the “ultra-high-quality master with cuts” are known. The one recorded in this work is the “full recording high-quality master”. Initially, we considered patching the two masters, but when we actually produced the two recordings, the compatibility of the two recordings was not good (“CHICAGO 2016” was produced using this method, and when the compatibility is good, it is the best) The result will be…). Therefore, this time we have improved the “full recording version” with remastering. When I relaxed and organized the treble that was too strong and the midrange that picked up too much hall reverberation, it transformed into a completely different sound! It is true that the “cut version” had higher sound quality with the original sound that appeared on the Internet, but the sound of the “full recording version” has a lot of room for improvement, and as a result, the sound exceeds even the “cut version”. realization. The quality was comparable to the beautiful San Jose performance (discs 1 and 2). I don’t want to talk about hardships. I would like you to know how this work is “one of the two selected works”. Those who listen to this work will feel that it is the “best sound” without any discomfort, but behind that there are countless recordings that have been weeded out. Not only each show, but also the same show, we rigorously compare multiple masters, carefully examining the possibility that each one will be improved by mastering, and then selecting and producing a set of 4 2 performances. In the commentary for “CHICAGO 2016”, which was the first report, I wrote, “I wonder if there will be a recording that surpasses this work in the future. I hope it will appear. But it may not be possible…”, but it seems that my worries were unfounded. It seems like it was. In fact, it was such a success that you could almost scream with joy at the number of recordings that are worth carefully selecting and mastering. And the wider the base of the pyramid, the higher it becomes, making it possible to produce ultra-high-quality titles like this one. Although the influence of sinusitis is not felt in Ozzy’s singing voice and performance, it appears in the set list that is gradually getting shorter. At the San Jose performance, “Under The Sun”, which was being played at the beginning of the tour, disappeared, and at the Denver performance, there was no “God Is Dead?”. On the other hand, because it is shorter, I feel more physically fit and able to concentrate. I don’t know what kind of set will change in the future, but this is also interesting because it is in real time. “WINNIPEG 2016”, which was released on CD with “Guinness-class sound”, is of course a must-listen, but immediately after that super masterpiece, there are also a series of masterpiece recordings. This is the pinnacle live set that has been carefully selected and polished. A 4-disc set where you can enjoy the last steps of the legendary band BLACK SABBATH in real time.
